Wow, we got our White Christmas! Started last night at 7pm and is still snowing. We have a few inches and kids came over last night and tried to make it home but they had to turn back when they got close to home as hills were all iced up and roads closed, ambulances, cops and cars in ditches. Thank Heavens they made it back to our house!
I see the local tv station got you and your hubby on video, jw...

scarin' me, Mitch, to think you might not be tellin' us that number is in F...

oh, wait, wouldn't really matter, would it (-36C=-33F). Feel for you man...

Don't you get down to those temperatures as well?
I thought we had similar climates.
If there's no wind, the numbers don't make that much difference. It's kinda fun to see them drop as we drove home from dinner last night.
:)

The only thing I don't like is that the truck side windows won't clear ice/frost with the vehicle's defrost system.
Wildlife aren't running around either.
The seat heaters are nice though!

No, I think the lowest I've ever seen in my 59 Michigan winters was a couple of years ago at -15 F. That's why -33 would be scary! I bought my wife a seat heater (she likes to park on the driveway) last year and I got major kudos for that one! Sometimes, you just have a genius idea, you know?

Right now, we've got January proper at a bristling 6 F. Seems most of December has mimicked that month so I'm not really looking forward to another 30 days. I doubt we're early (as in next month will have February weather!) so I guess I'm practicing my b*tching now...heh

Oh and if you like that sort of 'fun', try and find the correlation to 'see them drop as we drove home' to 'listen as the engine sounds worse and worse'.

You should maybe try synthetic engine oil.
This is the first winter I've used it, I think it's great.
The cold weather doesn't seem to make a difference.

(Isn't Keyser Soze out of "political correctness" now?....)

I have been (using synthetic) for a while now as I learned it can extend the life of engines. Wouldn't go back. That said, when it gets THAT cold, my wife would rather her truck NOT start, you know? Good reason to call in sick on such a cold day!

The reference was made because of Spacey's line at the end of the movie, as I believe it to be quite profound. Keyser is just the parallel.

First photo is my patio furniture which is covered. The raised pond is also pictured. The next shot is the pond with a framed net over the top. Next shot is Andrew (my fishing boy statue) he is on a bench next to the pond. Can't even see him anymore.

We are supposed to be getting 5-10 more inches of snow. Temperature is 14 degrees right now and supposed to drop to single digits over night.

I want snow! Just box up the clouds and ship them to me!

We are getting a touch of snow, a sprinkle maybe a inch, maybe less. Just now spitting a bit. Very light band of snow. Darn cold, for us, anything that falls will stick around for a while. 20 right now high might make 28
