EAST PUGET SOUND LOWLANDS:
...LOWLAND SNOW POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY CHRISTMAS MORNING...
A weather system will arrive Sunday, spreading rain and possibly
snow into the region. The air mass will cool down Sunday night
dropping the snow level down to 500 feet or less in most interior
locations from about Tacoma northward. The steady precipitation
will taper off early Christmas morning with showers lingering into
Christmas afternoon.
Latest model guidance indicates that snow will not be particularly
heavy, with no more than a few inches of accumulation possible in
most places. Snow is more likely from about Everett northward and
at higher elevations, above around 500 feet. Confidence is
increasing in the snow forecast but small changes in some of the
variables can still result in a much different forecast for Sunday
night into Christmas morning. At this point there is a good
chance that some locations in western Washington will have a white
Christmas.
