Can't walk by a nice rock without picking it up...................I have made dear hubby turn around in the car to pick up a neat rock I spotted as we drove. And when we went to arizona to sale my house, the rv was full of rocks on the trip back. JW got to grab a bunch also we shared the back yard and AZ rocks!
My wife does the same.
Stop! Turn around!
I want that piece of driftwood!
Will it fit in the truck?

17f this am, slowly climbed to 31f darn cold after our 70f days.

The pond has dropped from 57 to a warm 39f in the last few days I might turn off the surface bog flow, a lot of surface water flowing that is cooling off the pond. If it drops any lower I will unplug that pump.

We're not too far below you at 14 degrees, but our wind chill is below 0. The ironic part is by Wednesday we'll be in the middle-upper 40's with rain.

30 degrees when I got up. But the sun is shining and it should get into the low 60s. I want to get outside and get my pond all foamed in so I can get the water going.
What a weird time of year this is!!!!!!!

Hubby and I both can't resist pretty rocks! ...but not all rocks are created equal, and we sure learned our lesson about "falling rocks" after bringing some home from a trip to Kentucky, and watching them disintegrate in a short period of time:ROFLMAO:

My daughter, her husband and the kids come over to Maine from Ohio for a visit annually. After a couple of trips with a trailer to bring bikes, tents, and misc "needs", it finally dawned on Nate that the trailer wasn't for the east-bound trips as much as it was to provide a means for my daughter to import Maine driftwood and rocks back to Ohio.
If I live long enough and the trips continue long enough you'll be reading about the "Rock-Bound Coast Of Lake Erie, and the "Beautiful Sand Beaches Of Maine". The amount of rocks she has exported from here may be one of the reasons for climate change due to the earth's balance being disturbed.:)

Although we've had some 50 degree days, night have been from 14 to mid 20s F. The pond and stream still have 10" of snow cover and thick ice on the ponds. We have another wet cold front moving in and are likely to get 4-8" more white stuff. I am ready for spring and I'd really like to see my pond again!

Started out nice here today and by the way we are in Cali not Az. This particular town uses Az time zone and I keep thinking we are still in Az. Now it has darkened up w/clouds. I do have a bit of a rock collection started but trying to control myself somewhat

Bill my hubby is a bad influence. As we walk he says, "what about this one?" Gets heavy in my backpack but he does help w/the carrying. If we see any nice steel stuff we have to snatch those up too cuz he's a metal man :D

Have you ever seen the Lucille Ball movie -- The Long, Long Trailer? There is a bit about collecting rocks. It's FUNNY!
