Tomorrow is going to be fun! Schools here releasing early, but I think that's wise. After the year the school buses had to turn around and take kids back to sleep at the school, I'm glad they are playing it safe. Weather folks where I am said it's a very similar set-up to the year that the snow fell on fairly warm roads and melted quickly to slush. Then evaporative cooling kicked in along with an influx of arctic air -- ICE. It was a mess. Took me 3 hours to go 3 miles. Husband was on the road 8 hours trying to get home - watching cars slide around.OH NO the Earth is ending snow is coming southerners .Buy all the bread buy all the milk and hide .My niece called before and stores are mobbed .She works for sams club and said not one loaf of bread left .![]()
A friend of mine took a picture of her store purchases -- bread, milk, eggs, and TP. A friend of hers said it looked like she planned to eat French Toast while sitting on the toilet! LOL!Don't forget the TP!
My dad and stepmom live in Alabama. He works for Publix and the store was chaos even yesterday with people stocking up. We all kind of laugh about 2" of snow shutting things down as we barely sneeze at 2" here in Chicago... but it's no joke in the south. Last time they had a freezing rain event, semi trucks couldn't get up the hills near Birmingham. It is zero here right now. To everyone in the storms path, stay safe. I am used to snow and we have the snow removal equipment here in Wisconsin to clear the roads but the south is a different story.
