I should have mowed on Monday, mowed last week Thursday! But, have plans each evening after work this week, so it's not going to get mowed until Saturday afternoon! The horses and cows will be happy since I'll definitely have grass to sweep up and give to them to eat. :) Sunny and high 80's here, and I agree with Sissy, this dew is making everything grow and it's all enjoying the cooler nighttime temps, too, it seems.

Nothing to mow here, grass is all brown and a few weeds seem to manage to grow. Still I guess we should mow our weeds. No rain in sight! We didn't water our grass at all this Summer but it will come back nice and green as soon as the rains of Fall appear.

Wow, I can't imagine your grass not green, JW, with your endless days of rain earlier! Seems you have feast or famine there. We did have that famine here, and it lasted about 2 months or more, but now everything is green green green here, except those evergreen bushes lots of people have, tons of them brown dead. People will be yanking out bushes this fall. It's awful!

Everything is still brown here. Locals are saying that the grass might be dead. For as long as we went with no rain and hot temps. We have huge cracks in the ground around the house. The dirt is now about 3" away from the foundation. Last night we got down to 47 with a high of only 64 today. My lillys are pretty much done I think. No new blooms or pads coming up. I've cleared out most of the water lettuce so the skimmer can keep up with the leaves. I borrowed a friends pond vac and boy does that thing work. Just hooks up to your hose. Creates a siphon just sucks all the muck up.

Right now temperature is 80 degrees, however it won't stay that for long as the sun sets quicker now and it will chill off to 40 or 50 degrees by morning. The sun is getting lower on the Horizon every day now, so the ground and night time temperatures are getting cooler every week. I expect a killer frost by the first week of October for sure.

73* right now and will get down to to 41* tonight and I can sure tell that Fall is in the air at night but daytime is still like Summer. Had to get out and water my plants today from being gone all week. Not finished yet, gotta lot to water here. Not the grass tho, it'll come back on it's own when the rains of Kilimanjaro come in!
Neighbor is painting his house bright pink............geez we already have a house across the road that is Napa store blue.............eeh gads I grew up in my parents pink house and now not fond of pink...............I think we shall paint ours some kind of mural to shock them all outta there pants...........got any bright ideas? Maybe a house painted w/ goldfish and frogs and giant water lilies of various bright colors and then a giant statue of a heron on the roof top?

Yep the roof and all the sides too, fish, lilies, frogs, turtles, lotus and an alligator w/the giant heron on top!
I grew up in a pink house so I have an aversion to them.

House where I grew up:

So here's what we have to look at now when we drive down our cul de sac:

Neighbors NAPA store blue house........all it needs is the yellow sign trim:

OMG, JW, yep you have to do something wild to get their attention. that's awful to have to look at, and what you are talking about would be art! I would love to drive by a house with a pond mural all the way around it. LOL
I was driving to a kennel after work, watched temps drop on car thermometer from 83 to 70 in less than 20 minutes! High tomorrow only 72 and lows in 50's. Woohoo, loving it! But, agree, not loving the noticeably shorter days now. Have a scuba diving refresher course tomorrow, got put off from 2 weeks ago, when it was 95, so I'll be wearing a light wetsuit. I'm such a wimp! LOL But, figure I have it, why not wear it and be comfy. I'll be nervous, hoping I remember all I need to remember for the course. It's a one on one (no one else needed it this month) so will be easy, no tests, just refreshing my memory so I feel comfortable to go diving in January!

Only getting down to 45 tonight. The last three mornings we woke up to freezing temps. Tomorrow a high of 87 and then the extended temps for next week look great ranging from 73 to low 80's. I hate the thought of winter coming  .

This is what our winter looked like in 2010, hope we don't have a repeat. I would love another mild winter but the chances of that are probably pretty slim.

lol ce I wear a wet suit even when diving in the islands, water a nice low 80 temp, I chill so easy in water, but love cold air, weird ..................
I did a refresher course before we started diving, I had not dove for 20 some years, while married to other hubby. It all came back nicely, but a very good idea to do.
I don't like showing my card (rescue diver level) because then the dive master, guide thinks you will take over if he feels like being lazy.

They did that to me in our florida dive, honey getting certified with 10 others me on my refresher course, dive instructor goes chasing a lobster, leaves me with students in a strong current, low visibility, the turd! I made all sink to the bottom and grab rocks until he came. We could not even see him.

Now that the pink one is there I must agree the blue one looks better but really don't like either one. Yep Fishy a peeing boy would be good too  If I did the mural it would not be pretty...............would have to hire someone and I bet that is costly...............and DH would never go for it. Maybe just paint it black or zebra stripes like addy suggested

We are still in the sun, sun, sun and 72* and climbing. Gotta get outside and do more work before the cold sets in and I know it will soon! Think I'll do some trimming today and more watering of course. Still playing catchup!
