Such a lovely spot for entertaining. "Mature plantings" we call them
Yep I have a very lot of mature plantings! I look at my pond and say to myself. Self, I should trim this and take that out and on and on. Then I say oh well all is so El Naturel looking and just leave it be. My snake friend like it

I don't think I posted these earlier. Things are looking a little raggedy and overgrown at this moment -- but these photos are from that perfect time when things were just filling in and looking nice. We were having a little family gathering and had our furniture and cushions out. We parked our vehicles out front to free up the backyard area.
Looking great! The matching cushions and garden furniture makes it look like a resort, and a rather pricey one at that!

I hadn't even realized it's been just over a month since my pond leak started. I ordered the patch kit almost immediately, and it got here quickly. And then other life stuff came up and I kept putting it off. Yesterday I finally patched it. There was no information about time needed to fully bond before it could be wet, so I gave it a day and just filled it up now. So, as of now my pond is full for the first time since early May. As you can imagine, I'm pretty nervous to see if it's fixed and if it holds. I also got in the pond yesterday and fertilized the waterlilies. I had to move some of the lily pots and the whole time I was thinking "please don't puncture the liner, please don't puncture the liner" :ROFLMAO:

So strange this year. Milkweed, butterfly weed, and tons of other flowers. Zero butterflies, zero.

The bees are loving the bass wood, linden tree that just opened. Smells so good.

Same here, no butterflies or hummingbirds. I'm only seeing a few milkweed beetles. I did some checking online and it seems that the weather in Texas has something to do with monarchs and the higher Temps are affecting insects and animals.
My sugar bill will be a lot lower now. Cutting back from 8 feeders to 2.

I've seen hummingbirds feeding on the arbor covered with flowering vines, but not as many as I usually do.
