We had a snow spit, not even enough to cover anything, hail, snow, rain, cold.

Turned on the pump yesterday. Water almost totally clear today.

A large red shoulder hawk is hanging around.

While working out there found a bunch of seeded marsh marigolds. Out in the grass , among some rocks etc. I dug up a few where they would be mowed and or walked on. The ones in the ground are blooming the one in the pond is growing, no flowers yet.

We had about 6" of heavy wet snow yesterday. Over half of it melted today, but we just had a burst of heavy snow, maybe about an inch.

Normally I have my pond running by now but winter's sticking around this year. Camera's a little foggy looking tonight.

We got some lake effect from the same snow storm yesterday morning. It started with freezing rain, enough to bring down a few branches on trees, and then got about 3 inches of snow on top of that. It was melting fast by the end of the day. Overall, where we are
at in Mecosta county Michigan, old man winter showed up this last season wearing shorts, a T shirt, and flip flops. Pretty mild winter
comparatively speaking. I normally start ice fishing on local lakes by the beginning of December, but this last season it was January
before we had safe ice on our lakes.
