Are you getting it? If you do, let me know how it works.
Mr. P has done a good bit of homework and really wants to get it. I thought reading the bid might dissuade him this morning, but nope....her wants it. Installation would be in Sept / Oct time frame. $$$$$$$$$

We're thinking of the whole house generator that auto switches to natural gas.

I recently bought a 20KW Cummins whole house generator. I will have it hooked up soon. It uses natural gas. I did a lot of research before purchasing this model and brand. We get a lot of blackouts in Southern California, especially last summer. This unit will auto maintain, auto start and switch power. It will more than run my whole house and spa. It is just outside our bedroom and will run at a very quiet 65DB.

If you are not that committed, this is what we have been using for the last few years. It is a very quiet 4500 watt gas or propane generator. I have only used propane since it can sit forever and not go bad. It also runs quieter on propane at less watts. It starts right up with a button every time and if you shut the door you can not hear it from inside. It is even quieter than the cummins. The only downside is you have to drag it in place, connect a propane tank then run cords thru the house. It will not run the 240V AC/Heater or SPA but pretty much everything else.

This model is a Westinghouse but I believe Cummins now makes it.

Went out and yanked bog and pond plants, everything growing way fast. The bog dropped by 1.5 inches as soon as I got all the obstructions removed ie plants. The little pond dropped by two inches after I got the flow better ie to the small waterfall. Found a weeping issue due to the plants backing up the water. Been losing a bit more water than evaporation would allow for.

No snake even with tromping around in the ponds and bog. Clothes turned brown with mud slinging around.

Thrilled though did see a tiny frog, tail slowly disappearing, that managed to survive the snake massacre.

The one hubby is looking at is a 24KW Generac. I think he said it runs at 67 DB. We never used to have so many power outages, but have many more severe storms in recent years. We live in an area with lots of trees and unfortunately many fall in these storms and cause power outages.

Go figure your state has been working on the grid for a decade in a major way. I Imagine your rates have skyrocketed

Are you saying Ohio has been working on their power grid? Yes our rates have gone up. Our county had an agreement with a supplier but it was recently canceled as they were losing money on the deal.
