I scored big time today! Got a bunch of Marsilea Mutica (4 leaf water clover). Some are temporarily placed on the top of planters until I can get them permanently situated in unscented kitty litter tomorrow. For now they look like tangled hair.

These are probably one of my favorite pond plants! I remember when I was a kid back in the 90s one of our local nurseries had these and I was always fascinated by them.

I finally got the clover planted in their final positions and the leaves have self-oriented. Now they look much better. In another 2 weeks I’m going to begin adding marginals.

These are great addy1...I have a couple in the garden too. I wish more people put them out...

I used to have a bunch of them. I removed them when my native gardens got to a point where they were producing plenty of hollow stems for the bees. I wouldn't mind adding a mason bee house again at some point, but I get a bit nervous because I know they can potentially spread disease if they aren't maintained properly.

Well it has been wet hear for the past 3 days GRRRR. Rain is needed though so all the flowers can grow can't wait. But the pond is still looking wonderful on this wet overcast morning and yes cleaning my fence is on the to do list lol.

It's so hard to be patient!

It's been almost a year since we resurrected this little bitty pond and I can hardly wait for it to warm up again so I can restock with plants and fish. Of the five shubunkin we started with last year, two have survived. The pump got one (first timer didn't check that the grate over the propeller was screwed on TIGHT). Courtesy of our "pond cam", we know an owl got another and a racoon another. They've gotta eat too, so I can live with that. I want to add three more little shubunkin but I know it's really still too cold. The pond is tiny, in the shade and it's still in the 40s at night. Must resist the urge!

Last year my floating plants didn't exactly thrive. I don't think they get enough light to do much more than exist. This year I'm going to build a little patio pond in a sunny spot and just raise plants. Maybe a guppy or two will appear. It's too early to tell ;-)

As I learned from another post today, that carpet of green algae that's covering all the rocks isn't bad. That pleased me no end to read.

I love the look of this pond, tucked away behind a stone wall, and the moss!
