Thanks! We're so lucky that we could get it going again.

After fish and frogs have survived a year, I'm also going to declare my automatic water level valve setup a success. We've been able to set the float so that it compensates for our slow leak but doesn't immediately drain the rain barrel that feeds it. Here's a picture of the copper float and the frog that's enjoying this beautiful day with me. I was worried about the copper harming fish and frogs, but my water test kit and happy creatures tell me we're doing just fine.

Why? I have one (auto fill) in my skimmer that my pond contractor said he puts in all of his ponds..I never really thought that there could be a problem...I can see that you wouldn't be as easily aware of a leak in the pond but I look all the time to make sure it's not over filling and being in Florida evaporation is constant so I wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. My water bill has not budged which would be another clue:)

Simply because of the chance it gets stuck down and overfills the pond, wasting a bunch of water. In my fish tanks with auto top off I have a float sensor, a backup float sensor, and auto off if salinity drops to low, and auto off it it has been on for 3 minutes, and only a 5G resivoir. ( this is more to protect the hardwood floors than anything else, but you get the point, I am darn scared of auto top off. )

So pretty! If your pond ends up like mine, that moss will grow and spread -- it is incredible and beautiful!!!!!

After 12 years my 1000 gallon water fall failed. Figured did not need to see well to work on it. Eye finally not giving me double vision. Yeah! Eye protection on.

Hubby and I had torn it down on Friday.

The 2 foot plus waterfall rock was supported by land, over the years the land settled it ended up resting on the stock tank edge. Managed to squish it down losing 2 inches of height under the rock. Which equals a constant leak.
After turn on I was chasing the leak narrowed it down to the 1000 gallon tank. Not the loop ponds. Over 8 inches of water over night. Looked under the rock saw the squish.

So waterfall tear down, walking these big rocks off.

Using a 2x4 and a big rock I manged to pull the edge back up. Dug down and placed cinder blocks under the edge. Always surprising what you can do with one arm.

Put more blocks higher than the edge for the rock to sit on. Managed to one arm and using feet walk the rocks back in place except one too heavy. Got hubby to move that one.

The landscape block is holding the edge up, testing that I could pull it up.

Got it back together still need to restack the rocks, make it pretty again. Time for a break. Tomorrow is another day.

The rock under the pipe is the one I could not one hand walk .

Oh my gosh! What the heck are you doing out there @addy1 ? Next we will hear you squished your toe or busted your buns! You just gotta get out there and fix it tho don't ya,lol!

Watch those Water Hawthorne as they will send out little seeds that will sprout in the water and you can pick them out and plant them in some soil and they will grow new plants.
