Summer vacation in full swing!

Today Tropical Storm Elsa passed over Raleigh, bringing over seven inches of rain. She gave my rain garden a good workout, topping out over the lowest weir as planned for about 30 minutes. Rain comes off my roof and into a basin, stream, two ponds, and finally the rain garden. We catch more with an in-ground gutter that feeds rock-lined, usually dry streams that pass under the bridge to the viewing platform. all the standing water in the rain garden should be gone by tomorrow. Hope those of you touched by Elsa are safe and as dry as you want to be!

While I was posting. We have a mated pair of Cooper's hawks with two juveniles that frequent our backyard.

The bees are loving the lotus flowers. My pink and white and pure white opened.

A slight change in the form of adding a 2000gph pump for more movement/air. Took them about 15min to believe it wasn't attackithem & move on.
