I got two new fish from Windy Oak Aquatics.
The first is a Comet. Mostly white with a red head.

The second one is the mostly blue Shubunkin with an orange face. I was hoping to get one with a yellow face but they didn't have any at the time.

I also got a few large Water Hyacinth to give the fish some kind of cover and shade before the water lilies fill in.

...and here's my pond today.

JB you have some very pretty fish. Love the markings on your favorite comet. The blue shubby is also very cool.

Here a few pics from my pond today. Still working on areas around my skippy and waterfall.
Been working on this area so I can get it planted with something, not sure what. Any suggestions?

Need to plant around the pond edges. Bought some more creeping jenny yesterday and I have some bearded iris to dig up and plant.

I also bought some siberian iris yesterday and lemon grass and some various flowers which need potted up.

And of course some of my fishies. I only have 11 in the pond.

haver I'd plant some taller plants up by the falls area like some pretty grasses mixed in w/ some other maybe big leaved plants that would over winter in your area. Or maybe some dwarf evergreens even. The possibilities are endless!

Local garden store had a bunch of plants so have made a few trips... Happy to have some life around the pond. Lilies reached the top in the shallow part and then I dropped them to the bottom and they should be back up very soon. I have some nasty string Algae in the first foot on the sides but the rest of it is pretty clear, not sure if it's the fish trimming the lower half. Also visited a local building sight for some more rocks, think I'm finally done with the rocks!

It sure is nice to be able to sit around here all together like this and ew and ah about all our wonderful ponds we all made isn't it?
Wish we could do a real live pond tour of each of our ponds but hey this is the next best thing. So many different ideas and just love hearing how everyone did theirs and came up w/ all kinds of things I never could have thought of on my own :D
