Fishin, yeah, I chose that plant because of the 2 freebies in the pot, so will definitely leave them where they are. Thanks for the info on how the grow. I'm not much for researching everything, prefer to learn from others. :) The green one, then, I may leave where it is, and separate some of it and put it on or near the waterfall, see if I can get it growing along that eventually, when I get the waterfall built, that is.

The green for sure like water movement. mine grows best in the stream but I have it growing in a few places and water movement isn't necessary to keep it alive that's for sure.

Looking good country! Love the way you laid it out, even with the green water. That bog area is perfect!
I just noticed some freebies, those tiny little lace like plants I have some red ones in the bog and green not as lacy in the pond. No clue what they are, love freebies though!

Yep, Addy, I look close for anything "free". When I asked about the water hyacinths, they said "3 for $10", so I picked up one that had 2 other attached to it, and she said, "Yeah, that's one", so as you can imagine, I searched until I found more that were "attached". LOL They didn't care, I'm sure, but I got at least 9 for $10. Sounds like I'll have 90 by the end of summer, but always happy to share with others. :)

Yes, I need to get some of that "floating rope" and make myself a ring, too. Two of them were inside the skimmer this evening, so that's not a good thing, I'm sure. Best to keep them on the pond and not in the skimmer. :)

They started going crazy once tied together, before that sort of putzed along.

CountryEscape...heres a short clip of 2200gph coming out my 9" weir. yours is a touch bigger so... any ways i measured the full span of the flow including the sides, you can see it spilling off to the sides too. 26 - 28 inches!!! and its rolling pretty darn good...lots more flow capability tho!

CountryEscape, love your pond. It turned out very nice. Great to see the bog before all the plants etc. It will be fun for watch it grow and become a verdant country escape  We have been drawing and planning for a couple of weeks and this forum has really helped with informed experienced users. Be sure and post a few pics as the seasons pass.

FINALLY able to log onto this site on daughter's computer. That will teach me not to always do the "auto log in" and then not remember my password. :)
Thanks, KoiGuy, for the video. Can't wait to get back home and get my new weir from you installed! I'll make sure and send pic/video when completed, probably Sunday.
Thanks for the kind comments, Pond Maven. It has truly been a labor of love, and yes, I wanted a plant bog, but until I asked what seemed like a million questions, I was not certain how it "worked", so I'm glad you also enjoyed the "before" pics. I still need to add the pea gravel when I get home, too! Can't wait to get home with rocks, and then there will be flagstones there that I ordered to be delivered while gone. Hoping the ledges will be done within the week as well, and waterfall completed soon. More pics will be posted as I go.
Pond Maven, this site has helped me immensely as well! Enjoy!!!

Home from UT, but not without hazards along the way. In the 20-21 hour drive, all was going well, until we got just outside Kansas City, KS, daughter's Dodge Ram lost it's transmission. I was driving, just like it went into neutral. So, that stranded us about 6 hours from home. Son got my pickup and drove to pick us and the horse trailer with 2 horses. Kids took my car in St. Louis, where I had left it since I flew to UT. Then, just 30 miles from home, had a blow out on read driver's side tire on interstate, made it to median shoulder, barely. Damage to rear quarter panel, hopefully insurance will cover damage, except tire, of course.
So . . . . as you can imagine, I was happy to get home at midnight (instead of 11 am), but disappointed to listen and NOT hear the water fountain or waterfalling from filter. :-( Turns out Sunterra pump evidently froze up from calcium buildup possibly. Scraped it off of shaft and housing inside, and it's working again. Is this typical, and the reason people said they were not good pump? If it quits again (it's only been running for less than 2 weeks!), I will return it for refund. Best get a better pump purchased and on hand for this to happen again. I was glad it was not burned up at least. Suggestions? I used straight well water, but don't think my water is that hard, since I go through very little salt in softener, but maybe it's harder than I thought!
