Yep that's Parrots feather alright but don't know if it's the red stemmed or not. I don't really think it matters. It will do fine in that pot for awhile but as much as you have I'd spread it out in other area's as it looks quite pretty coming out of the waterfall or rock crevices and flowing out across the top of the water. Mine dies back in winter but always comes back when the weather warms up. Don't throw it away when it looks dead cuz it's not

That's regular parrots feather not red stemmed, red stemmed is much smaller, thinner strands and the stems are red not green, Regular is far more hardy and easier to keep too.

Thanks for the info, JW and Fishin. Darn, I hate it when I buy things tagged as something that they are not, but if it's the regular, sounds more hardy than the red stemmed, so that's a good thing.

well disaster at my pond .new people moved in all the way down the road and left there dog out and guess where I found there dog .I knew it had to be there dog because most here have electric fences or chain link around there yardsHalf my waters gone and the ponds a mess and he was still here when I went out .I put him on a leash and tied him to the swing out front and as they were leaving with there moving truck over an hour ago ,they spotted there dog .They of course came up to get him and saw what he had did .They were really sorry and wanted to pay for the damages .but how can you pay for this .I am now filter what water is left .Which is half of what it should be and dirty as could ever be .

just came back in and so far so good all accounted for .I could not tell at first because water was so dirty .I have been putting it through all new filter batting since and it got clear enough for me to at least see the fish .I have not added water yet I am waiting for the water to clear some more then I will start adding it through a charcoal filter from my old well pump .I have 2 of the charcoal filters so I will add it slow and keep an eye on it .I am going to put the water timer on so I don't forget .Don't think I will but you never know ,better safe than sorry .What next .

Wow sissy, bummer. How are you going to keep that dog out now?

to make the water flow where you want it to out of the bog attach flat rocks with the black roofing sealant. This will direct the water to the area you want it to go. You can also make small ridges of the sealant on top of the bog wall to path the flow.

The owners said they will make sure she stays fenced in and I contacted my friend at the animal shelter and she is going to send them a letter to let them know that there dog is not to be left run free .This is regestered as a non run free neighborhood and has been for 2 years no matter what the other owners of the house told them

That is horrible sissy and hope she does not come back again. I'm glad she didn't hurt your fish. They are prolly terrified and hiding from everything. Maybe for now till you are sure they are keeping the dog home you could put a wire fence from Lowes or H-depot around it just as a precaution :)

I had some chicken wire I had bought for around my strawberry plants and still had some wooden stakes left so may use them at least for now .I felt sorry for the dog in a way she was scared half to death when I yelled at her .But you could tell she was friendly just made a boo boo.She pulled the hose to the filter loose and thats why it was emptying and she made a mess up by the 1 waterfall
