Printers are disposable. That's the new "environmentalism". Here is Ontario you get stuck with an "environmental tax" so that the defunct printer is disposed of "environmentally".

Strange, isn't it, that when you go to get new cartridges for the printer that the cost of the cartridges surpasses that of the printer that came with the low-volume cartridge?

Thank God all consumers are idiots and that we can't figure out "hard stuff". Duh.

I over all like win10, my lappy which was win 8.1 does not like it. Eventually I will toss this one and buy one built for win10. Even with upgrading the drivers etc it has issues with win10

What's wrong with Windows 10?
At the risk of receiving an Inbox full of abuse, I upgraded months ago and haven't ever had an issue. It's much faster to load than either W7 or 8/8.1.
It's never crashed, printer, scanner, webcams all work perfectly well with it. OK, it looks slightly different, and does a few management things slightly differently, but it just works.
I use W7 on my PC at work, I use W10 at home - prefer W10.
At which point I'll stop and get my hard hat and flak jacket....................:nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:
No need for personal protective equipment, @CeeJayH . To each his own. It's just that I'm so used to the look of the screen, etc., and I knew how to access what I wanted on my two previous computers. PLUS... I HATE the way advertisements pop up all the time on some apps, and if you want to get rid of them you can upgrade, but IT WILL COST YOU!!

Oh, don't get me started on THAT! $29.99 for a printer, $69.99 for replacement ink cartridges! And being a DIY type, it ticks me off no end that my cordless drill ($99.99 with two batteries, charger and case ) uses replacement batteries that cost $129.99 for two!!!!! :rage:

Nobody wants a drill with dead batteries, Addy! I have two old drills sitting in the basement, but I don't have the heart to toss them. My son took the last one off my hands, since he just bought a similar model, and can use HIS batteries, thereby having two different bits ready to go without changing back and forth in one drill. The sad part is, all the drills were in perfect working order, only the batteries would no longer hold a charge.

Ok my hubby talked me into installing Windows 10. I haven't done it yet but am in the process of making backup image of my old Win 7 first in case I want to revert back. He installed it on his computer and our computers are exactly the same model, year etc. I looked at his and it seems fine. He deleted all the privacy issues etc. So looks like I will be joining the 10 crowd soon. Hope I can get my printer to work like you did @HARO after 10 is loaded up!

My sister had a barn sale two weekends ago, she kept asking me to help her price some of her deceased husbands tools. I tried to tell her nobody wants a 12v drill with no batt, or charger. Nor an empty case, even for $2. Sure, he paid a lot for them, ten years ago. A lot of stuff that seems fine, isn't desirable anymore when the technology has advanced.
But that doesn't mean I want windows 10 yet:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. And she still has the drills.

Installed Win 10 and went w/o a hitch. I think I'm really gonna like it, actually I like it already! Got rid of most all those app squares and now the ones I kept only appear in a little square down on the bottom left of the screen when I click on the start button. Unchecked all the boxes that take away your privacy in settings and now I'm good to go. Printer works fine and all came back looking just like it did on Win 7. Sure glad I decided to make the switch cuz now this op system will last much longer than the Win 7 that will end service in 2020.

@addy1 glad it helped your happy lappy and now we are going to see if my little tiny netbook will work on Win 10. Heck why not as you can always revert back to win 7 w/in the 30 day allotment.
