@sissy, you research wonderfully, what was the fridge you bought? We are going to try and get ours fixed, it is a nice side by side. I just recall yours had wifi and you say it is working great. I have been looking at the french door ones but tons of money, reviews all over the place on all of them.

I got the GE adora model .I had a GE side by side before only 8 years old when it went out and kept spending money on repair after repair when it went out and realized the 500 dollars I put into it was not worth it when it went out again .Thermostat first then thermister than main mother board and then final was main mother board went out again after only 6 months and the new parts only had a 90 day warranty from manufacturer .Never worth it to fix them no matter what .I could have used that money on the new fridge .Got mine at home depot and got it onsale and got there credit card at the same time and ended up paying only 1100. dollars.I will find a bargain if it is out there .

I also got the bigger one so if you don't need the big cubic foot one like mine it may be somewhere around one thousand 4 hundred dollars .

I just signed up for a credit card that has 18 months free financing, and up to 4 months to transfer balances from other cards (I have only one other) and then 18 months from last transfer for free financing. My goal is to get EVERYTHING paid off in 18 months! I will have my tax refund to help pay for things, too.
I need a new fridge, too. It's another electricity sponge here. It's over 30 years old, or I think it is. Same with stove, which is at least 20 years old or older. But, I don't use the stove that much. The fridge runs all the time. One thing at a time .... windows will help with heat and AC, so they are going in first.

We pay our cc's off every month. I have never carried balances, hate the thought of paying interest to anybody. Sometimes it is a little difficult, but always do it.

The repair guy canceled, snowing too hard. I am going to pick his brain when he gets here to see what seems to last the best with the least repairs. If he can fix this one without a ton of bucks, we will get it fixed. It is a ge side by side, ran for 6 years without dieing.

Have one credit card now and only use it in emergencies .Things is addy the repair guy told me this will fix it and then this will fix it and then this will fix it and nothing lasted and each visit he got 56 dollars for his services and then found out with a ohm meter I could figure it out myself and then said to heck with it and bought a new one .My range is the double oven one and for hot water at my sink i have one of those hot water on demand faucets best investment I ever made and so easy to install .The best investment is windows as long as they are put in right ,I see to many places that install windows without the weather guard wrap before windows go in .Builder here did all his windows with out it and never saw houses built so poorly .3 of them are up for sale because people are fed up with the repairs they have had to do on new houses .

Is it me or does it seem like when a member here has an appliance problem that others do as well? Our 11 year old Kenmore washer died yesterday so off to Lowes to get the new Samsung set. Problem is, the machines are stacked in what used to be a shower stall and the new machines are 4" taller each! Install is going to be interesting with only 5" total open space for the width!

I thought of stacking my front loaders and leaving out the drawers but i am a short person and would need a step stool in the laundry room all the time to reach the buttons and to get the laundry out .I don't know why they say you can stack them .I guess tall people would be fine with them .Plus to handicap compliant they need to be sitting height for a wheel chair .So the drawers went under them .
