We have one new car, my honeys camaro, ow everything has gentle age ...........second youngest is 7 yrs, next is 14 yrs and they get older from there. He has a lot of old camaros, firebirds, corvettes that he messes with.

I keep them until they roll over and put their wheels in the air. In my lifetime I have had 3 vehicles I have considered mine.

Still have my Subaru wagon from 1992 and will keep it like addy said till it stiffens up and refuses to move one more inch. It has had a leaning problem for a long time now to one side w/ the air gadget that raises and lowers the car. You have to let it warm up and push the up/down button............well we really don't know if that helps but it gives you something to do while you wait before you can drive or you will be in for a bumpy ride. I think the less options like this that you have on a car the better off you are in the long run cuz you just have to end up fixing all these extra's when they go bad or like us you learn to live w/ it's aches and pains.

That's our plan for the Venza. Own it for as long as possible. JW, I totally agree about excess options. Just more things to fix. Never owned a Subaru but their commercials portray them as safe and reliable.

Slowly but surely I'm repainting, with solid stain, the old big decks upper structure. Soon will be ready to refinish the floor, walkways and small deck using porch paint. Thank goodness there is no time deadline. A lick of paint sure helps these 14 year old < > structures look better and last longer.. :wacky:

Tip - I'm brushing on wood harder on any deteriorating wood before repainting. This liquid basically petrifies the damaged areas plus prevents further rot.

I totally agree with that. I used to have a 1978 Toyota that had a 100K on it and I drove it for another 100K. I drove it up and down the coast and never had to do anything other than oil changes and brakes because there was nothing to break! No air con, no power windows, no nothing.

Pot growers building up the road from us. They must be going to supply a lot of stores or whatever they call them here. They have 3 huge long greenhouses right next to each other w/ double fences and barbed wire on top curved inward like a prison camp! Wonder if they saw me snapping pix today of their place. I had to walk 2 miles around the place just to get to the back side of it to see the rest of it.
It is right on a neighborhood road. Hope they will have plenty of guard dogs for protecting their crops.

I hope everyone is careful with fireworks over the holiday weekend around your area, j.w. If that pot farm catches fire, all of Arlington will be stoned for a week!
