Beautiful weather, dug 10 holes for trees I have coming (thank my honey for my tractor), nectar heavy trees. 1 acre of trees ='s 800-1000 lbs of honey. Cleaned out the bog, dead and almost dead plants a tractor bucket load, looks empty now.

Welcome back, Mogsie! Sissy, you welcomed Mogsie back and didn't tell him you were taking your toilets out and replacing the wax ring, and you said, "got done with 3 toilets"..... I laughed and laughed at the possible interpretation of your words!
Addy, an acre of fruit trees? My sister ... the older one that is "always right", planted something like 12 semi dwarf fruit trees, 20 fir trees (she said they are blue spruce, but thinking they are green ones ....) on her already fairly full 1 acre lot with lots of very mature hardwood and evergreen trees! The only open part now has fruit and fir trees. She has never stopped to think what it would look like when the trees mature. She just look at what they look like now. Glad someone has some sense about that kind of thing. Thanks, Addy! Bet your bees will be thrilled with their new yard next year.

CE we put in just 10, if we put in a acre of those trees there is enough nectar to make the 800 gallons of honey.

We did an edge of the yard planting, still have plenty of sunny empty land, well empty of trees. These get around 30 foot wide, supposed to grow real fast, we will see.

What type of trees did you plant, Addy? I assumed fruit, but you just called them "heavy nectar". Those bees next spring will not know what to do with all the goodies you are going to provide them with. Good for you! I'm anxious to hear how it all goes, too.

They are black locust, considered good by some, invasive by others. Fast growers, so maybe we will get flowers quickly. We have maples, which are also a major nectar tree, but they bloom before the bees come out for spring.

"Black locust is a major honey plant in the eastern US"

We already have apple, pear, peach, plum. Water mint! great nectar producer and white dutch clover, great too!

got new exciting hair colors for Xmas. It took a while to get used to at first, but now I love it cause someone who I have not seen for while said I looked really good and that it went well with my skin color, so I got over my new hair color complex....

If we all worked together as well as bees do and worked as hard, this world would be one different world, way better.

Nice hair Colleen!

dont worry sissy i knew what you meant, lol, yes everything is fine in my household, wow everyone seems to be busy, nothing much to do for me afraid, planted my onions, cleared dead vegetation from around the pond, well ive left some as i like the golds and the yellows they produce as they are dying off, now just sit back and let the garden freeze basically, garden temp down to 1c or 33f , expecting harsh winter, but that is fine so i can put my new canada goose jacket to the test !
been a bit miffed recently as i got a virus on the pc and lost lots and lots of photos, some early pics of the pond, that i cannot get back again, teach me for not having a back up !!

oh and despite the temp being really low and now in the middle of november, i bizzarely still have pansies that are in flower !

Pansies still blooming ... Jealous!!!! My sister lost all of her photos, her Mac crashed. She is a photographer, you would have thought she would have backed them all up, but had kept saying "one of these days I will", and now it's too late. Devastating, to say the least! After that, my son backed up all my photos, now if I can just remember how to plug that thing in and what to do to make it back them up regularly. LOL
Totally agree with you, Addy, we all need to work together like bees, and make this world a place EVERYONE can live and work and survive together.
Colleen, I LOVE your new hair color. I have been getting my hair highlighted for many years. Like it far better than solid coloring it, as it hides any gray much better, and you don't have to redo it every 4-6 weeks like you do with color. I especially like the gold casts like you got, as my hair is brown, and finally convinced my beautician that I do NOT want white/blonde highlights ... makes me look like a freak ... or teenager LOL. I'm too old for that. I want it to look natural, so now we do it with color, rather than bleach. Voila!
Woke up this morning, stretched right arm over my head straight up, and OUCH ... felt like a knife stabbing me in the middle of my shoulder blade. I have high tolerance of pain, too, but it still is hurting bad, almost to the point of stomach aching, so took a couple of Alleve, which should make it go away. Anyone ever have this? Wonder what in the world I did? Never had that happen before, but was nearly crying from the pain. :dunno: :frown:

geeze mogsie sorry to hear about pics ,I save all of mine on a separate hard drive this way I can't loose them plus I can use the hard drive on my laptop and my tablet so I don't use up space on those .Geeze mogsie you been attacking geese for there feathers ,just kidding .Goose feather cover on my bed keeps you to warm so your jacket should be snuggly warm .Love the highlights in your hair colleen .I am just letting my hair go grey .I like the look and my friend Monique let hers go white and then put lavender highlights in it and it looks great .Geeze ce hope it was not your left arm because that is what happened to hubby a week ago and doctor said it was his heart and now he has to have an ECG done to get a pic of his heart .See if it is the stent or another clogged artery .The pain was in his left shoulder ,he was washing his hair in the shower when it happened .Reached up to take off the separate hand held shower head and it hit him .The doctor told him that what happened had to be looked at .But he does have heart problems and plaque was what clogged his main artery to the heart by 90 %,he was lucky heart surgeon was in the hospital when it happened another few minutes could have cost him his life .You could have pulled a muscle also and he told me actually aspirin is better for pulled muscles than those none aspirin pain relievers .Funny thing is aspirin can cause so many other problems but can help the heart so much .
