Is it true that people get immune to flu and cold bugs once you have had them? If that's the case, then my boss should not be getting so darn sick all the time. I think she is just very sickly, at least compared to me. I get sick very seldom. Not sure the flu shots really help much, but if it will keep her from being sick 50% of the times that she IS sick, that would sure be a help for her ... and me. :blueflower:

maybe she needs vitamins in her diet and some of those immune helping meds .I know people who drink alchol are more likely to get sick ,they say it weakens your systems .Maybe you need to give her a box of those immunity fighting vitamins as a hint .

Supposedly lard does not stick to your food as much as other cooking products. I have not used it yet so I can't say for sure. I will try it if I can find it.

ce maybe your boss just likes taking sick days? I get a cold once in awhile but not sure if I have ever had the flu. Guess I would know it if I did cuz sounds like it really makes you sick. Been healthy all my life except for kidney stones and some slight colitis type stuff once. Those don't count as catching type sicknesses tho. Long time ago I had something called fifth's disease and my son got it too. I was in my 30's. https://secure02.kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/fifth.html

Sissy, I think my boss is a hypochondriac when it comes to being sick. Yes, she likes to take sick days, and if it has been more than 30 days since her last one, or if she has no court all week, I guarantee she will either be sick, or she will find another reason to take a day off. LOL She just doesn't like to be in the office day after day. She is typically in court 2-4 days a week, so weeks like this coming week, she only has 1/2 day of court, I just bet she will either be sick one day, or stay home for another reason. And, she is the type that if everyone in her family has gotten the flu, I guarantee you she will get it. She just thinks of being sick, and gets sick, I swear!

HATS OFF TO OLD NAVY AND THE GAP STORES. FOR THIS YEAR THEY HAVE DECIDED TO THWART POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND DISPLAY
MERRYCHRISTMAS INSTEAD OF HAPPY HOLIDAYS. I APPLAUD THEM AND SUPPORT THIS MOVE OF CHRISTIAN PRIDE!
The American Family Association has made it its mission for nearly eight years to coordinate a major grassroots email campaign targeting retailers that replaced “Merry Christmas” messages with the politically correct “Happy Holidays.” But this year, the group is claiming a major victory.
Bill Chandler, Gap Inc.’s vice-president for global corporate affairs, sent a personal letter to the association announcing its policy has changed this year for Gap and Old Navy stores

I'm not religous, but the "Happy Holidays" thing bugs the heck out of me.
What a cop-out.
Poitical correctness goes way too far sometimes.

How about those shots to prevent Shingles that they want to give you if you've had chicken pox? We never got those shots either but sure is scary to see people who have Shingles. I don't ever remember having chicken pox but both my kids did.
I had that shot jw, I worked with a lot of patients that had shingles, it is one nasty painful thing. The shot caused no issues. My insurance did not pay for it, (costco did the shot 175 or so with a script) the shot company reimbursed me all except 40 bucks.

Now the flu shot, never get them, have not had the flu, can't recall the last time, it has been so long, if ever. Do get colds if I get around a sick kid

The very best thing to do is not touch your face, lips, nose with your hands when out in public (when you work in a hospital you get very well hand trained) As SOON as you get home wash your hands. Or carry the squirt bottle of hand cleaner stuff, clean your hands when you walk out of the store. Best prevention in the world.

Food fried is fat is good for you!! Yes that is right, but it is the type of fats that you choose, if you choose vegetable oils it is bad, cause those oils turn quickly to harmful trans fats!!

If you choose good old fashion real animal fats, then it is VERY good for you!!

Heart attacks and strokes are a new plague that we NEVER used to have over one hundred years ago, when all we ate was animal fat!!

That is the real hard truth people, and the tides are turning, people are sick of being sick and many are opening their eyes now.

I for one am very happy that I was not lead to believe that saturated fats were bad!

The animal fats are the food of our fore farthers, the food we have eatten since the time of the bible and before!

The only reason the FDA is getting rid of these very harmful trans fats from vegetable oils is because of MONEY!!!

Too many young people have strokes and heart attacks these days, causing the countires to spend more to fix these people. Three women I know from work that are may age have had a stroke in the last year. They all eat margarine and believed the BIG FAT LIES brought to you by the vegetable industry!!

You have to keep in mind that human lifespan was also a lot shorter back then. Old age was what, 50 - 60? :) That's scary, lol.
A lot of it comes down to genes as well.

Coconut oil is very very good fat too if you are not into the animal fats... why is is very very good,? Because it is a good old fashion saturated fat, and contains large amounts of medium chain fats which are very easy for our body to absorb.

When I say vegatable oils, I am talking about the high concentrations of polyunsaturated fats, that you were lead to believe were heart healthy. Olive oil is NOT a vegetable oil, it is a fruit oil, and is very good as long as you do not cook it on a high temperature...

People died from simple things back them, like the flu and measles, I would be dead if I lived back then, cause five years ago had blood poisoning and there was not medicine for that back then. Still some people lived to a long age in spite of the many hardships... and still NOBODY every had a Heart attack or Stroke!!

Just like in the high Arctic, where the groups of indigenous people like the Eskimos, lived on a diet of 95% satursted fst!!! They gave the meat to the sled dogs!! They never had a heart attack or stroke !

I can't wait till they take the stinky rotton margarine off the self!! remember... they told us "it has to be healthy, it comes from a vegtable"!! Now they want to take that off the self too!!

Thank's God, some people are now finally waking up, I always believed in You, when You said "the fat of the new born flock was the very best"! Amen!
