Just one last thought on 9/11 ...NEVER FORGET , BUT TRY TO FORGIVE! AS JESUS (YESHUA) SAID ON THE CROSS, " FORGIVE THEM FATHER FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO!"..forgiveness can be hard, but is the christian, and right thing to do.

Well, I started my bog today......I have a huge stubborn spirea that took a long time, and some help from Tony (hubby), to get out of the way. Here is the progress so far...

Well guys...it"s 10 years tommorrow....9/11....I 've heard they're expecting some sort of terrorist activty ..not a group so much as some individual....let us pray this doesn't occur tommorrow,or ever again. heres a budweiser commercial from 2001 after the attack....for those who havent seen it yet.
Koiguy I just saw a new version of this commercial on history channel where it is identical to the first one except instead of the horses walking in the winter they are show in the summer where the grass is green and when they are bowing toward the WTC you can see the new freedom tower in the distance. Pretty cool.

You could get a small piece of liner for the hole, make the bog edge slightly higher than the pond, drape the liner over the edge into the pond. Join the two together.

Addy, here is the area I would like to be a bog(yes very small area where the thermometer is)..it was intended to be a bog but it's not lol...the fish can go in there when I fill my pond to the top but I really didn't want them to because of the raccoons and such..so are you saying build up dirt behind the liner and then add more liner over?

I think I'm going to make a rectangle out of building blocks right next to the pond and then put a liner in it....gonna kind of figure it out as I go along....

LOL! It's not pretty yet....I still need to fix the waterfall to make it pretty :) I started building the bog yesterday. I'm so excited! I'm so glad I found this forum and all my new friends......you guys and gals are the best! The water still has a lot of green in it, but I'm sure it will clear up more eventually, I'll go take a few pics and post them in a few minutes...

dont flush your filter until your waters clearer....the more the bottom layer of media builds up or collects particulates. the smaller the pores of the media get and the smaller the smaller the particles it will collect. unless theres a restriction in flow.just worry about mechanical filtration for now. if youve got an old fiberfill pillow or some batting around put it in a laundry basket or milk crate under your waterfall if possble..it will amaze you at the amount of fines it will trap...this will significantly expedite the water clearing process. you can buy a bag for $4.00 AT WALMART, KMART ETC.. rinse and reuse or replace it.
