Not much damage, more down towards virginia, but some buildings damaged in dc, but talk about grid lock, everybody trying to get home at once, out of dc.

When I bought anacharis I also purchased the lead weights with them. I took about 3 or 4 bunches and tied them together. They have not seemed to hurt my pond that I know of. Heck didn't you grow up with lead paint and stuff and you seem to be fine.
all of the submerged or oxygenting plants i've bought have come in the little lead strip weights....thats the way theyre sold everywhere here. no problems have occured! i never got any this year tho...

yeh my sons going to live there as it is closer for him to go to school and yep went to Kill Devil Hills NC and helped a friend build a composite deck and then up to Norfolk VA to see Tommy and Pam and have been on the cell to see how they are doing since they decided to ride out the storm since Tommy belongs to the rescue squad .With the new house I expanded the kitchen onto the back porch and made part of it a mud room and laundry room and the added a second bathroom .The house was 3 beds 1 bath but no closets so had to make the house 2 beds 2 baths .Hated to take away a bedroom but no choice .At least building inspector was impressed with what I did .Guess really he was shocked a women did it by her self .I'm really glad they bought the cabinets from cabinets to go . com .It was really easy to order more of them and order extra door panels .I was really impressed by there RTA cabinets ,all wood and easy to assemble your self .Any one considering redoing there kitchen or baths should try them . I paid for an extra 10 feet of cabinets and 4 door panels only 699 dollars .I poured my first concrete counter tops and that was really simple too .I have to say the new heated floor mats they have now are simple also to install ,thinking of doing them in my house now .

Man sissy where do you get all your energy? You are a real mover and a shaker, lol! Neat to hear about all the stuff you can do to those homes. Your son is a lucky fellow to have such a nice mom to fix him up w/ a nice place to live. You should take some pix of all your hard work and those neat cupboards and concrete counter tops. You go girl!

problem is taking pics as I was trying to get it done was hard .I had to get the outside done fast .I tore off the old siding insulated and the plywood layer then 4 inch foam core board then more plywood then house wrap then new bigger windows then siding .I wanted it to be as energy efficient as I could get it and had to get it done before storm got here .The earthquake happened right after I got to my house .

Forgot to say if my son still stayed at my house while going to college it would have been over a half hour trip just to get there .Heck of a lot cheaper this way .Taxes on the house are 36 dollars a year .Might break the bank there LOL

well the little baby fish i found that already had colour, i put it into the seperated area with the other juvenile fish and one of them had been having a go at it and damaged all its tail, i took it out into a seperate tank but it couldnt swim, it just laid on the bottom on its side, i waited hoping it would make some sort of recovery, but to no avail ! so i have just had to put the poor little thing out of its misery, even tho it was only half an inch long it was a very hard thing to do, really upset for that poor litle fish now !
