Dragged that big tree in the front door, you never really know how big they are going to be till you unwrap the thing as it comes tightly bound, so far no bugs either, should I find some you will be the first to know! I doubt their is any as it has been sitting outside of the "Real Canadian Superstore" in Really cold Canadian weather!! Ha ha!

I just got the lights on and I still have all the decorations to put up tomorrow! :)

It is just Christmas perfume and smells so nice this time of year. I need to go out and collect some fir tree branches of the ones that smell so good to bring in and make the house smell sweet. The artificial tree just doesn't do it for me. Now happy decorating Colleen

I got that big tree for only 25 dollars! I thought that was very good deal and I am so darn happy with it, and I gave it extra special water from the pond! JW you could make a very pretty wreath with the fir branches, they sell branches of fir too just for that purpose, but you probally have fir growing all over and don't have to buy it.

Big puppies lying on floor and that fat little Poppy telling me to feed her again! You should hear her, she's really working me over for food, I fed her several times and she has doggy food, but she wants that naturally smoked sausage in the fridge, might have to give her a small bite so we can go to bed.... :)

Pretty good deal for such a nice large tree. We have lots of Christmas type trees around here and I can deck the halls w/ boughs of it. If nothing else I will stick some in a pot of dirt in the house and make it look like it is growing while enjoying the fragrance. I could also sneak over to the tree farm and take a little bit off the extra fragrant type of tree w/ the flatter type needled branches. Forget what the guy over there called them but I know which ones they are and they won't mind if I clip just a little off in an inconspicuous spot.

Puppies are going to get tubby eating almost till midnight. Will have to put them on Weight Watchers doggy style if not careful

House smells so fresh this morning. can't wait to play with it after work this afternoon and get my elves, Santa's and sleighs all hung. Little fat poppy did finally quit hounding me and we crawled into bed and had a nice long sleep, while visions of sausage danced in our heads..... :)

hey sheetmetalman, its all starting over here as they claim we are going to run out of north sea oil in approx 17 years, but other sources claim that we are only half way through north sea reserves with over 24 billion barrels left to extract, so you just dont know what to believe, the government is backing the shale gas fracking process, it is the environmetalists that is opposing it, claiming it causes pollution of groundwater, air polution and siesmic activity, apparently they where initiation the fracking process in a large town 60 miles from me and it caused earth tremours ! we where once big coal producers, all my family including my grandmother worked in coal mines, the town where i live was once full of mines, mainly deep shaft mines, but also opencast and drift mines, infact it is now causing a problem with old shafts collapsing and causing subsidence in local homes, people have had to move and houses demolished, their is no coal mining in my town anymore and very little coal mining in uk in general, but maggie thatcher and the past conservative government finished the coal industry, (though there has been rumours regarding a very large australian company buying most the uk coal mines and exporting the coal back to australia ) could be good for the employment situation. The government jumped to support windfarms and these giant turbines popped up everywhere, but they are turning out to be a scam, as the government has to pay the company that owns them subsidies for the money they lose when their is no wind. their was planns to put solar pannels on the roof of every home in the uk so people could create their own electricity and any that wasnt needed could be sold to the national grid for public distribution, but i think the government stopped that project early due to finances, so now they are jumping to support fracking for shale gas, but we will have to see if it really gets started off in this country, the environmentalists could just be putting out propaganda to scare people, we have a constant stream of invironmental propaganda regarding many issues as i live in the lake district and it is a environmentaly sensative area, yet they are also wanting to build a large underground depository to store nuclear waste (mostly from china) just down the road from where i live, that doesnt sound good either,

Back in SW Louisiana my sister-in-law got their tree from a cut it yourself tree farm. Got it in their house only to discover the tree was infested with red bugs (also called mites)! Ho! Ho! .........get that tree outta here!

I highly doubt I will see any mites, they would be froze good up here in Canada. However way down south the weather is much warmer so sure there could be some bugs. Mites hate water, so just hose your tree off really good if you live in a warm area and that should take care of any mites, so you can still have a nice real tree if you want too. My house smells so wonderful with that big balsam fir tree, and I am so very glad I got it while I did as they are now all sold out. Got to take the puppies to the park and catch some sun rays! :)

Beautiful tree Colleen! Great job. Ours is very very basic, artificial ficus with some lights that I hauled with us. But it looks nice.
