Mogsie, I have never surfed but I am fascinated just watching them. We go down to Cali. once in awhile and my hubby has to drag me away from the surfing. Not on tv just in real life. We have cross bikes and used to ride all the time w/ friends and relatives or just ourselves. Would go about 40 or 50 miles at a time just for fun. Never road across the country or any long distances. Our friends did do that one year stopping in motels as they rode from Arizona to Florida. We couldn't go w/ them as hubby wasn't retired yet like they were. We still ride but not as much. Are supposed to get out today and do it but waiting for hubby to get motivated if he ever does. I'm ready to go! Tick, tick, tick!

Has anyone had any problems with their tomatoes splitting? Both my cherry and the different variety of bigger ones have really been splitting, Not sure if it is the heat or not? I have never grown the plum tomatoes are they very good?

yep heat does that just like watermellons and cantalope and honey dews .The skin on the tomatoes gets tougher also because of heat and dry weather .

I keep meaning to ask you how are the fish doing so far and are they bothering your plants yet or can't you tell yet .

They all seem fine so far, the plants not touched that I can tell, the one long fin red is still not really eating, sort of hanging out by itself. All else have seemed to adapt just fine.

Mine seem to do that with heat, also if they do not get consistent water. They are a tropical plant, without a constant water feed they seem to grow smallish, then when you hit them with water they grow fast and split. I mainly noticed it when I had potted cherries. My big tomato are a real pain, they seem to always split, going to stick with cherry ones.

I like plum they are a denser tomato, I grew them to mainly can, makes a thicker tomato sauce, less water in them. Like the flavor of them. And the stink bugs don't like them and they don't split lol

Got to go on the bike ride today. Was fun and we just got on the bikes at our house and headed towards town and down to the river and up the hills and down some more. They had a chain saw carving event in town so we took a look at all the amazing art work. Course I forgot the camera. Didn't know about the event. We rode about 25 miles today. Need to start doing it more often to get into shape so we can go longer. Rode by an amazing wholesale plant nursery................was huge..............had every plant you could think of that was hardy around here anyways. I wanted one of each but they won't sell to the public.............brats! Stopped at a park and ate our lunch and there was a pond and it has tons of Anacharis in it. Had to sneak down to the waters edge and grab some out when no one was looking. Only got a handful but planning is going on in my head for more...............maybe by the light of the full moon some night.

I had some that reached the surface, but the goldies ate them up.

Neat jw, camera in the pocket, always! how often do I need to tell you that!

Just casually walk by the pond dip down as if washing your hands, stick some down your pants (ignore the stares as if you wet your self) and go home............................................

Someday I hope to be able to visit Scotland it looks like a really neat place. Would like to see some of the old castles there too. Have you been to any of the castles over in the UK or Scotland?
