Sometimes you have to keep yourself from laughing.

A firm has a policy stating employee absences not coverd by vacation earns that employee one penaly point per day. After accumulating twelve points the employee is terminated.

During one on one meetings with employees regarding their upcoming job elimination the HR Represenative stressed the firm would suspend the penalty point system for those being fired. Think about this for a moment. The person who was just told they are losing their job is supposed to be grateful that they will not lose their job due to the absense point penalty policy!

WTF! Oh thank you sir for not kicking in the head too hard. May I have another please sir?

I know you have seen tons of lily pictures by now, just need to share this crazy lily. It is a hardy, opened 2 days ago and has not closed once, open day and night.

early am 8ish, had to wait for the sun

late afternoon, around 430p or so, they usually shut around 2p

Dark! too dark to crawl down the slope and get a net less shot The net openings are around 5 inches, the net is around 4 feet above the lily
I can see it glowing on the camera shot right now!

041.JPGHi everybody- still here once in a while. Addy, the lilies you sent me did great this year. Covered the pond completely and the koi didn't eat them up!
Been a crazy busy year as my father passed away in March in Ohio and I got to deal with the estate. Finally done until after the first of the year (after 7 trips). Didn't get a lot done here but hoping in the spring to get back on track with a big fish sale. I have TOO MANY FISH!!
Seems like it's been a bad year for a lot of members with health & employment. Hopefully the new year will bring good things for everyone.

Addy and Mrs. Clem beautiful lilies! Mrs. Clem I got some of those Georgia Peach from Addy as well, and they quickly became my favorites. Lots of blooms at the same time and they are still blooming in my ponds, too! I have a red and a white that are still blooming as well, but they tend to be more closed by mid afternoon as you said, Addy. Thanks again for the beautiful lilies!

Sorry to hear about your loss and I know about settling estates and it can be one big hassle and a lot of sad work .Believe it or not my mom and dad passed away march 7th almost 30 years ago and more stuff surfaced last year .I found out there were several safety deposit boxes in mom and dads name and I did not know about them all these years and I found them in that sight lost money.com that the government runs and it was free to look them up all you have to do is put in names and they check for you and keep it listed and if anything comes up in the future they will contact your e-mail . .They just added lots of new states to there list .

The bullfrogs are coming and going in our crazy weather. They don't like it below about 55 air temp, but are out in force when it gets above 65. Saw several yesterday and today. Tomorrow supposed to be warm in the 70's again, then turning colder again. See saw .... back and forth, but at least we are getting some warmer days still. I'm happy about that! October is usually really nice weather.

Years back we raised two very large bull frogs. One morning after a tremendous rain storm I found both of them flattened in the street. I wonder what attracts frogs to streets?

The bullfrogs are on the roads out here where I live, too. They go out there at night when cars drive by, their headlights attract bugs, and the frogs (and toads, too) get smooshed. I would think they get their fill or bugs in the meantime, if they don't meet their death before the end of the night. When I was a teenager, kids used to go "toad popping" in the country. Drive around see how many they could hit, as they made a "pop" when you got one. I never swerve to hit one now, though, more the opposite. Bullfrogs literally jump out in front of cars, though.

Yuck on the toad popping! I know the snakes all go out on the roads for the warmth. Think it helps digest their food better when the weather starts getting cooler. Frogs too are cold blooded so maybe they go there to keep their insides warmer. They like the wet roads and eat the worms I bet that lay on the wet pavement also. Slugs do it too but they gross me out when I see them eating their fellow mates that got squished.............YUCKO!!!
