OK, had the biggest scare of my life.... was scared to tell you.... my sweet pea, honey bunches of love, my loving husband John, came home from work one day last week and said he had to go to the doctor, dentist thought he had cancer of the gum, he chewed tobacco for 30 years. He had MIR and all kinds of tests, Doctor rushed him in for MIR last week and was shocked to find the results are all negitive!!! I cried for a week and a half, terrified he was "checking out"! It was enough of a scare for us and now he is eating totally different, fish and chicken, lot of vegs, no carbs and sugar or BEER!! :) :) :) :) :) Best news of my life! :) :) :) :)

So we sat in the front flower garden today, after his doc's appt, had a nice talk. I don't think he really looked at the flowers for the last month, it's like he was worried and somewhere lost and in a depression, was always tired and on the couch sleeping. After sitting outside today, and it was like he was seeing the flowers for the first time this month. I swear he lost 10 pounds at least just from cutting out beer. :) :) :)

That stuff can pack on the pounds! Makes you realize how short life can be when something like that happens. Stop and smell those flowers

So glad you and your hubby got that good news Colleen and my DH likes his beer too. Has one or 2 a day. He hasn't smoked since in his early 20's but don't think he will cut out his beer. He's getting a ponch from it. He's riding his bicycle each morning trying to get in shape. Will tell him about your hubby almost losing 10lbs cutting out the beer. He still won't quit............oh well

I enjoy mine each year cuz I buy myself a special treat................a German Chocolate cake..............yum I love them
They're on sale right now and I'm buying me one and sticking it in the freezer  Wonder how many points they are for a piece cuz I've just started on DIY Weight Watchers (on my 3rd day) and only can use so many pts per day. Oh but I get 49 extra pts each week for free so I could use them all in one day on the birthday

Happy Happy Birthday, Mark!!! I am past you, too. :)
Colleen, sooo glad your hubby got good news, and because of the scare, he is now eating healthier and cutting out the beer. It's a wonderful thing to stop and smell the flowers, and I really liked the pics of him you took, your whole yard is very lovely! Green, lush looking ... nice to see the change from what is around here right now. It will get green again, but thanks for sharing your green!
Addy/Sissy/JW ... you ladies stop telling me all those sales at Lowes! I don't have one close by, have to drive about 45 miles to get to the nearest one, darn it. I did get a palm (not the hardy type though) that is about 6' tall for $11 at Menards over a month ago. It's doing great on my deck, even in this heat. I think it would be happier in a little cooler temps, though. I would love a pussy willow tree, though, that would have been hard to pass up, Sissy! YOu were smart to snatch up a couple of them. I am on the "I do not need more plants" mode ... hoping repeating it will help the hunger to plant/grow more! I have too many things planned coming up - camping this weekend, puppy sale next weekend (taking my Boston puppies to a big puppy fair/sale), then going to see my daughter in UT for a week the following week, then my sister coming the week after I get home for about 5 days! Whew!!! When it rains it pours, but I love being busy, and I've got all my projects under control here in the yard, so it's time to play and have some fun!

Made a nice squash soup with mixed vegs, hubby said it tasted quite good, nice and light, with some fresh herbs from the garden. Glad he's finally given up a diet of "McDoubles"! Poor thing, he thought for sure the doc was going to tell him it was cancer, after the double MIR, he thought that there would would be cancer "everywhere", he said he was sure the doc was going to tell him that he had 3 months to live, no wonder he was so depressed! Hubby never told me any of this until the last minute, was hiding it from me for so long! He still has to get the two teeth out next week, doc will take another snip (third) and send it away for tests cause he just can't believe it's not cancer, even when he showed me the gum last week I got real scared and cried cause it look like the warning pictures they have on the tabacco packs! Last week was gloom and doom week for me, hubby said the doc told him he would have to have all his top teeth pulled and then they would most likely cut out some jaw bone out and that his face would look "sunken in". Hubby was so worried that he was going to clean out the basement and camper out at work, like he thought he would not be working again... even the guys at work thought he was not coming back and someone already tried to take his parking spot at work! Thank God it's not that bad! :) :) :) :)

PS. Want to Plant one of everything in the yard now, cause life is too short to miss out on any good deals that are dirt cheap! Ha ha :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
