Yep the snow will prob be gone by the end of today, it is still doing tiny flurries, but roads all melted. Then maybe a tiny bit snow by wednesday, maybe. We ended up with around 2 inches, good kind of snow, melting nicely. No traffic issues lol

The people out here are hunters, they use shotguns, I don't venture into even our own woods, during hunting season. Every now and then hear a large gun. I head into the house if I hear anything but a shot gun going off.

Same thing here addy hunting season scares me .I have one handgun and also a license to carry a conceled gun but very rarely ever do that .I got that after everything that happened back in NJ and just decided on lawyers advice to get it down here .I at least feel safer now that the people involved back there either died in prison or died shortly after they got out .I saw a guy at the flea market last year buying guns and I watched him closely .Turns out he was parked near me and his license plate on his truck said NY ,I called the police and next thing I know there are cops all over he had 30 something guns conceled in the truck .The cops laid them out all over the ground ,I'm just glad I was watching and they told me he was not even in the U.S legally .I could not believe what I saw ,I could not leave because I was all boxed in by police cars so I had to just sit it out and wait .I go to the Hillsville flea market and the have the gun show there and sell them but are not allowed to sell bullets ,now does that make sense they could have bullets with them .I see a lot of people there walking around with guns like it is a badge of honor .Makes me cringe .Even when they have the estate sales here they sell lots of guns at them

I sold over two hundred guns when my husband died, but all through a register dealer. A bunch of them were class 3, that is the only way you can sell those full auto ones.

That is the first time except for on tv that I actually heard that whizzing bullet sound fly by me. It was a very eerie sound and you can't see it so you don't really know which way to go to get away from the next ones on the way. I ran behind my shed to my hubby who was sitting out not far from me working on a new electrical set up for my pond. He heard it whiz by him also. Just a few minutes before the bullet came by I had been walking across the yard w/ the wheel barrow. The popping sound of the bullets continued after that and that's how we tracked down the shooters. This is a rural area but has houses w/ an average from 1 - 5 acres and houses are close by enough to be able to see each others homes when standing outside in our yards. I just can't get over why they would be stupid enough to stand in the one kids driveway and shoot across a street to another property and allow the shots to go through that property to our property. I mean come on, what in the heck were they shooting at? We are talking about maybe 5 acres in between our house and the shooting and they could see houses in the direction they were shooting. I will be calling the county tomorrow to see if it's even legal to shoot around here. The cops did not know.

Seriously??? The cops didn't know if it was illegal? If they arrested the kids, they should know any and all ordinances and laws and rules for the country as well as the city! Grrr ....
My son was taught to NEVER EVER shoot in the direction of ANYTHING including houses, cars (even if a car MIGHT drive by) or humans. If he could see them, they were a possible target! Granted, people make mistakes with guns, but usually stupid people make those mistakes. These kids didn't even think of there being a possible target past their house. I live on 6 acres, my neighbor shoots his 22 rifle, in the direction of a field with nothing in the way for over a mile, and a 22 does not go that far. Plus, they shoot at targets on the ground at the back of his yard, and his yard is 1 acre. I would NEVER shoot towards anything in the direction of my barn or his house. Even across the open field, with nothing for a mile, you never shoot up and away. A judge in our area got shot in the neck in his garage from a bullet from a high powered rifle, shot from well over a mile away. He came outside, heard something in his garage. Turns out it was the first of what ended up to be 3 bullets that ended up in his garage. The shooter was shooting up at a hawk that was preying on his ducks. He was borrowing another man's gun. He had no idea the ramifications of those gunshots! Just coincidence he hit a judge. But, you can imagine the scare for the area and for the judge (and I used to work for him 25 years ago when he was an attorney) when he got shot!
Again, stupid people, not bad gun laws. Those cops need to know that guns are not legal to be shot toward another person's property. Period! Why would they even question that??? Geesh. Sound like you have wimpy cops. LOL

Country they didn't arrest the boys. They merandized them in front of their parents and the one dad told his son not to say one word. They (the cops) said they had no idea if it was illegal to shoot guns in our area. Said I need to find out. But said the boys even if legal had no right to be shooting towards houses and across fields. Said it was reckless endangerment and the statements from us and from the cops would go to the juvenile prosecutor to see if any charges would be made. I asked one of the cops how old they were and he said "lets see the one was born in 1995 and he proceeded to count on his fingers and came up w/ 17 and I think the other one was 16 but not sure. Must both be under 18 anyways as records being sent to juvie. The boys had the weapons in their hands when the police pulled up and I was right there w/ the boys. The cops made them put their hands up and then asked me if I was their mother..............lol.................I said no way............I'm the almost shot victim! They frisked them and one of the kids started smirking at the cop and the cop got really pissed and yelled at him "YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY? WIPE THAT SMILE OFF YOUR FACE!" and proceeded to frisk them down and took them away to the parents. Now I must say that the one boy was telling his mouthy friend to shutup when he was yelling and being rude to my husband and I so I give one credit for something. Only the one boy was rude and disgusting but both stupid for shooting the way they were. I don't have a problem w/ people owning guns at all and think it is our right but we must treat them w/ respect and know the rules and what they can do and take responsibility for using them correctly and w/ good judgment. I hope they have learned a good lesson. Both boys live in nice homes and the one's (rude kid) parents I have said hello to when out walking. Never had a problem w/ these kids before but never met or talked to them either that I can remember. Maybe parents will wake up and take charge now..............who knows?

Oh, now that I have more information, sounds like the cops did a great job with those kids. Glad they read miranda rights in front of the parents, as that's always a way to get out of charges. Sounds like the one kid at least had some conscience, and his parents probably got after him big time. The other mouthy sucker, his parents probably arguing all the time their precious boy is just being a boy and not guilty of anything. Seems that's how mouthy kids get that way, parents are also mouthy and won't make their kids own up to their own mistakes.

yep is a manly thing .I rarely hear of woman doing that ,but these days I would not be surprised by anything I hear like this .To many people having children that should not and act like it is a prize at the county fair they won and then the newness wears off .People children grow up and need you to guide them in the right direction .
