I will check out your snow tomorrow on your cameras tomorrow addy. Weird cuz now we are warm and sunny............Yippee!!!

Was outside all day doing yard work. Went to cover my palm tree for the cold tonight and while doing so a bullet whizzed by me. Heard popping sounds beforehand but this one came close to me. Bill and I went running over to where it was coming from and found the 2 teen boys that were shooting. Told them to stop and that they could have killed me. One said get off my property and why didn't we wait till I was actually killed before we came over! Can you believe that? So called the cops and they frisked them w/ their hands up and took their guns. One kid was being really rude to us so I decided to press charges. Had to fill out a statement...........both me and Bill. One of the boys dad's got pissed at the cops. Darn kids! I told the one kid if he would have showed some respect and just said he was sorry we wouldn't have to call the cops. Then he says............SORRY in a very non-respectful way...........so I said that's it we're done........call the cops!

JW so glad you are ok, they shoot all the time around here, mainly shotguns, it always worries me. Hunting season is over the sound of shots has decreased.

JW you have the WORST neighbors! I could not live in a neighborhood where kids were shooting guns, bullets were whizzing by my head, they were disrespectful when confronted, and worse, the Dads were confrontational with the cops when called! Um ... we can all see where the idiot kids get their attitudes! And, don't you live in a subdivision type of neighborhood? I would guess some type of gun laws prohibit shooting any type of guns? Around here, if a person were caught with a loaded gun, even in their own yard, they would be arrested. It's illegal, much less a person shooting one near homes. That has nothing to do with gun laws either, it's simply common sense. I'm glad you pressed charges.
Addy, your pics are beautiful! Love that you have white covering everything but the pond area. Still rainy and warm here in Illinois. We would have had tons of snow had our last few rains been snow instead of rain. Water is standing in the fields again. Can't pull my horse trailer to the driveway, too soft, and that was BEFORE this last round of rain, too. Now have to wait for the ground to get frozen, I suspect, before I can pull the trailer out.

See thats why I say gun laws should be sticter and take in account more about how many guns a person should own .I hope these teen boys parents were charged also .Here they think gun laws are too stict and they want the law to allow you to be able to buy one gun every day if you want too .Come on thats redicules and who has that kind of money for that many guns or even needs that many except for drug dealers and terrorist .I see guns sold at flea markets all the time and I cringe .Parents who don't teach there kids respect should not be allowed to have kids .Maybe there should be a test you need to pass to have kids also .Drugs and stupidity go hand in hand .Glad you are alright and hope these people keep there distance and after they go to court you may want to watch they don't try something .Keep your gaurd up JW and you may also want to get a safety restraining order to farther protect yourself ,as that will give the cops a heads up if anything happens in your neighborhood .The order will tell them urgent response to the area the call comes from .Better safe than sorry with people like that ..Country if the tires are sunk in the mud the tires may be frozen in place .I used plywood under the tires to get the trailer out of the field at the other house. Oh addy looks like your temps will be going back up yo the high 50's again .Saw it on the weather channel

I agree with you, Sissy. Not sure how they can force anyone to be responsible, since anyone can buy a gun. It's the ones that buy them illegally that are the problem, and no matter how many gun laws there are, the responsible people will continue to be responsible, the thieves and murderers will continue to buy them anyhow. My ex husband and son are the model gun owners. They both own far more guns than they could ever shoot, but they collect old guns, and they treasure each and every one of them. They keep them in a safe, and when they shoot, they are the most responsible men I know around guns. My son was taught at a very early age to be responsible, and he has in turn taught MANY young kids to be responsible, even when the kids' own parents were standing right there and not disciplining them when they would wave a gun! My son would jump in and grab the gun and get in their face and tell them what they did very wrong! The kids appreciated it, and learned and would follow him around asking more questions. He would not allow them to have their own gun back until they proved to my son that they would handle it correctly. Now, how's that for responsibility, and I've seen him do it many times in front of the parents, too. The parents had no clue how irresponsible their kids were. They simply said, "Well, they wanted a gun ..." That is NOT a reason to get a kid a gun, and the parents ARE the responsible party here, not the young kids. I agree, arrest the parents, too! I've lived with the responsible side of gun ownership, and would defend them to my dying day, even though I own only a hand gun. But, having more laws only makes it tougher on the responsible people, the criminals always walk through the laws anyhow. What they need to do is arrest the criminals and make them accountable for their weapons, not make more laws. They make laws and don't defend them. I see THAT as the major gun problem. :)
