How does your net work back there or do you pull it forward somehow over the pond when needed?Nets closed, didn't see any visitors today. Because the net is so far back, while its not invisible I'm not looking at the fish or my pond trough a net. For some reason this doesn't drive me nuts. View attachment 157637
I took flat pieces of boards and put small nails sticking up on one side of my pond to help keep the raccoons out after I put the short wire fence and high net attached to that as they were ripping the net to squeeze in through. Now I never see signs of ripped net. I would be afraid the mouse traps might get your frogs or birds etc. That would cost ya too!The pond goes back that far the net is around 12 to 16 feet high. Then I have a couple cables going across the top of the pond to make it as challenging for the bird to land and take off . You saw in the video it didn't have a nice smooth flight and that was from just the cable at the height of the opening in the trees.
Is it fool proof probably not .has it worked so far yup. Is that particular bird on my hit list yup. It's had half gallons of ice tea and 500 foot spools of trimmer line thrown at it. I'll put mouse traps all around the pond if I have to. It won't kill the sob but I'll make it mighty uncomfortable.
This would be one of the highlights of my life...You are SOOOOO lucky!Today the little owlet got excited and followed a parent down near our yard for the first time! He stayed low in the trees along the fence, but hung out for a few hours until nap time called. My neighbor got pics of the parent on the ground in his yard and I got a few of the kid. I got to watch him testing out his little owl wings as he hopped between branches and trees.
That baby is just the prettiest little bird ever
Beautiful! The bird is looo lol by for dinner seems like huh?Game on ..................A visitor came to the pond today.

Speaking of lucky...this morning I went out to drink my java on the porch. I peeked out first (cause that's what I need to do here) and one of the folks was busy hunting. View attachment 157648
