Been a toad party at my pond the past week. Watching four of them now. I'm guessing one female and 3 males from the way they are behaving. Pretty interesting

We've been entertained by them for a week now.

Well I found snakey, the big snakey, going by the ribs it is not one of our black snakes they are a lot smaller. I have not seen her in the last few weeks and have not walked down to where I found the skeleton

One of your hawks probably got it.

Good chance, it is picked clean, I would think the fox would haul it away. The grass is worn down where it is, (I have not mowed recently, letting the clover feed the bees)

so right now I think we are back to one snake, the small one I have not spotted in about a week, the 18 inch is still around.

Hawks are great garden protection. We've had no berry damage due to robins or starlings this year.

I wonder if his relaxing in the sun, picking off fish made him an easy target for a hawk? Well, circle of life!
