Last night just as it was getting dark I went out to see if they were still there, but they moved into two different trees in my yard. I looked again today but didn't see them. Wouldn't be surprised if they're around though. I've seen owls probably 15 different times this year.

The deer are cruising the front yards during the daylight hours lately - which is a good thing for oncoming traffic.
This is one pair of twins from this year and a young buck that they're likely related to.
time for his closeup

Neat that you got that close! I saw two out while walking yesterday and one had already crossed the road and was out of harms way. The buck tho just stood there looking at me standing in the middle of the road. Got real close and he slowly walked out of the road but when he got off of it he still just stood there looking at me. I had to shoo him away as it's a busy road and not a good place to stand. I was only about 5ft away from him. Usually they all run like mad when they first see me. Not this one, he was too friendly for his own good!

I think they're getting close to being in "season" so they're all acting a little braver than usual. I can't take credit for getting close, I have a camera mounted on a pole and he was standing next to it :giggle:

They are warning us that mating season has started. To be careful driving.

I hear her frequently, but she's scarcely been on camera lately. Till last night when she took a dip and then hunted from the fence for a while. The most surprising bit is that the net is still suspended above the pond! I have a hunch that's why she didn't stay long  🦉
Recently SOMEONE snagged my sarasa's from the lotus tub...bet it was her.

We need those invisible shields like they have on Star Trek for our ponds!
Would give just a little warning first to ward off critters and would not be seen
and our fish would:
