Fishy's all fine, this is normal for them, they get to sleep under the ice and dream nice.

At the "bad puppy park" aka "the farmers filed by the river". Yesterday I noticed that the farmer dumped his onions yet again (seems to happen every year now), goes to all the work to harvest, then they must not all sell or something, and he dumps truck loads of onions by the river! Then they slowly rot each year and stink to "high heaven" for months after! What do you make of this???

Hubby slowly on "the mend" and eating more, looking for a fake mustache, we think we found some online, going to call about the shipping costs tomorrow. We also are getting some new makeup to blend the color of his skin graft patch to the rest of his face. The one eye tears lots cause of the surgery, but should heal up and quit draining threw the eye. I told him he looks good today, it's nice to have him home everyday, thank goodness for work insurance, he can relax at home and retire if he wants to. Not sure if he is going back to work yet, he still has to go threw radiation, then a send "touch up" surgery to fix the face better in six months.

Glad he is feeling better. Will the hair grow back on his face eventually after the radiation? Nice that he can stay home and still have a job waiting if he wants to go back again and nicer even w/ that insurance and if he chooses not to go back he can afford not to.

No, the skin graft that cover's his face is from his arm, so the moustache won't grow back, but he can get hair implants later. For now we are going with fake moustache.

The insurance was an option threw his work, we paid 150 dollars a month, and it covered all prescriptions and covered you if you got sick. Some people where he worked said no, and regretted not getting it, cause one guy his wife died, he would have received 150 thousand, and then he rolled his truck and could not work anymore, so he really regrets not paying the extra money for insurance!

You need insurance these days for everything .Just think if i had not gotten the protection plan from my insurance company I would have had to put out the money for the new well pump ,filter and tank myself .Life insurance was bought years ago from ford motor company and is 200 hundred thousand for each one of us and health insurance is still paid by ford but they have a deductable and do not pay any on doctors .I am glad your hubby is doing much better and knowing you he has no choice but get better . I got the bill for hospital but all the rest of the bills are pending 4 doctors and 3 others still have to come in also .Not sure what will be paid and what won't on them .

Those doctor bill down there can be very expensive, hopefully insureance will cover lots. My hubby has to start radiation next week and that will make him very sick again for a while. He has to go all the way to Calgary, Monday to Friday, and will take this special bus that picks the people up at the door and takes them to the Calgary hospital. Cost is 60 dollars one way, will have to claim all the expenses on income tax. Then he will have to pay 25 dollar a nite at the hospital hostal, for out of town people. Should be able to claim everything on income tax.

They tell you being sick because of radiation in in your mind and if you go there with that idea there it does not help .More women seem to get sick from it then men and that is part do to weight and food choices and other medicines or even unknown medical conditions .My father -in - law had cancer and passed away in 2007 and I took care of him and took him to his appointments and watchd his diet ,but it was an aggresive cancer and he knew that .But he lived longer than doctors thought and even went into remission 1 time .So goo luck to your hubbey and keep him calm and I know you feed him healthy so that will help .

I hope he does well on his radiation tx's Colleen. Wow $60 one way? That's $120. rd trip, yikes! I thought you guys all got free stuff up there to do w/ medical but sounds like you have big expenses also. Ok wait I went up and re-read your post and think that he only goes there on the bus and then stays at the hospital for how long...........a week and comes home on the weekend or? How long does he have to do this? Wonder what he will do all day long down there. Guess he would have a room w/ a t.v and stuff and then just kind of hang around. Can you come down on your days off and stay overnight if you want? Praying it all goes smoothly for him and fast and that it keeps that cancer away for good!

They don't radiate here in Medicine Hat, only Calgary. It's just an in and out thing, but for us from out of town, it's too much to drive back and forth every day, so he will stay at this low cost place attached to hospital, just for people like him. They get there own room, and they share a kitchen, and coffee, tea, juice's and bread and butter provided. If we lived closer, he could just go for the hour and come right home, he's not admitted to hospital, just getting treatment. Most stuff is paid for, but this is different cause he is not admitted. The drive to Calgary is about three house one way, and in the winter the roads can really suck, so it is cheaper to take the shuddle bus than drive my truck back and forth every day, and that would not work... with me working 5 days a week. So it's OK, he is happy to take the shuddle and they pick him up right at the door, and he will be back home Friday night.

That sounds like a pretty good deal and so how long does he have to do this for? Glad they bring him back to you on Friday's.

John's treatment will be six weeks, Monday to Friday. Should be all done by Christmas. Today was the best day I had with my hubby since this ordeal began. :) He is much more active, eating well, and hung out with me all day while I shopped for him, even though he sat in truck while I ran around to different places getting him this and that. Hubby was at least outside, in the sun, driving around with me, and that's much better than "couching it" for days on end. Once we get the new real hair human mustashe, he said he will go out in "public" and shop in store with me.

The weather is nice today, ran around with just a shirt, temperature was 45 degrees F, sun was shining and I opened the greenhouse door to air to out. Fish were happy and Bear did his usual "water quality test" of the pond today, and from the same spot the puppies always drink from. It is funny, its the same spot the fish from the middle pond hang out too, right next to the big yellow flag!
