Thanks JW, my hubby likes the birdies in the tree, and the words of comfort. Now if only I could get him to cut the beer out again.... he's trying, but he fell off the wagon yesterday and got more beer. I sure don't want to have him going for this big operation with a "hang over"! He claims the doctor said it was OK to have one or two... but not one after another! Got to keep my eye on him!

My dear one also likes his beers also and it does bug me at times how goofy he gets w/ just a few of them. I bug him about having to drink some each evening and he doesn't like it when I do. I'll make some smart remark like, oh is that the beer talking or you..........I'm bad..............I guess some things need to be left for prayer and God can bug him about it, not me. He did quit smoking many, many years ago when he was in his 20's so that is a good thing. He says he still remembers how good a cigarette was at certain times but also says he has no desire to start again. Best of luck on getting him to slack off for his surgery. I myself can't stand the taste of beer................now a nice little Tequila Sunrise or Sunset once in awhile tastes yummy. I maybe drink something once a year if that. I'm goofy enough w/o it

I'm in Calgary waiting in parking lot, in between appointments waiting.... Currently laying in back of my SUV, getting some rest before I have to drive three hours back home. Hubby is seeing one of the three doctors that will operate. This is the third time we have been here in the past week. We still have to go back in two days for the big operation. Windy right now in Calgary, going to have a new cold front move in tonight radio said today. See, Sun dogs don't lie, weather going to change. Hubby snuck a beer for the stress, has not had it yet..... Can't blame him cause he needs some relief from stress of operation.

So Thursday is the day of his surgery? I sure will be praying up a storm that good things will come of his operation and that they can get everything outta there that is hurting him. Be strong Colleen and try to get some good rest in before he goes in. When it's over please let us know how it's going for him. God bless him and take care of him through all this,Amen.

Good wishes sent your and his way Colleen! That is such a cute shot of him in his boots and gown, at least it was robe like, not with the back hanging open, like the ones here lol.

Wish him speedy recovery, hugs to both of you.

They say A drink a day, wine, beer, hard liquor for women and two drinks a day for a man is actually good for your heart and helps decrease your cholesterol. But the key is one drink for gals, two for guys, lol, not the whole bottle!

I really like taking wine and adding seltzer water, makes a nice refreshing drink to go with dinner.

HUGS! Colleen! HUGS Well wishes!

Everything going much better now, was the most stressfull time in the whole life, thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.
Got to get the yard done, leaves are everywhere and I still got so much to do and its raining of course! I will slave away in the yard while my hubby recovers in the hospital, 3 hours away! Wish he was in the hospital here in Medicine Hat, instead of Calgary! Oh well, the the care is just great there, lots of well trained doctors and nurses that are very young.... I must be getting old, seems strange that the Doctors and nurses appear to be in their early twenty's...

Hi Colleen, I hope your hubby gets better soon. We had a serious scare last year in our family and now the C is in total remission. We are doing a team walk this month for light up the sky walk for lymphoma. The survivors get a special color balloon for the walk. Last Saturday we attended the Michael Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer fundraiser here in Chicago. Hope everything goes well for your hubby and for you to stay well too. There are lots of success stories now for almost every form of cancer. Best of luck!

Hopefully he can come home Monday, but his one leg got swollen, he needs to get up and move more they said. We had a little walk, but he is still week. Poor hubby, he seems so sad and lonely, he need to come home. He wears a mask when in public cause he is shy of his "new look" I just tell him he looks good, cause it's not that bad, and it will heal better over time and the color of the skin will blend more after a year.

I drive threw a snowstorm just outside of town, was a little scary on the highway, but it didn't last long. we had a deep freeze, and now everything is dead, time to did up the bulbs now that the tops froze off. Thank goodness for my homemade greenhouse!

That would be nice for him and you if he gets to come home on Monday but don't want to rush it if they think he's not ready yet. He will sure feel better tho when he's home and can just relax and not worry about a mask. It will take time but he will heal and you will make him feel better about himself.

Yikes I don't even want to think about a snow storm now. Our sun is so nice here now. Still gets down to freezing some nights and frost in the mornings. Some plants are not liking it but I will see them again next year after their long sleep. Your green house is so pretty inside w/ all your colorful plants and I love the way you have it all decorated and so nicely arranged. Looks like you have a little bit of everything in there. How warm do you have to keep it and how do you heat it? I don't heat mine here, just use it for tomatoes mainly in the Summer as if you try to grow them outdoors here we get so much rain sometimes that they get blight and die so need to keep them dry inside.
