The deer here will come up to our house but not that often. They are spooky now guess cuz it's hunting season and they know when to hide. Poor Poppy, you need to get a deer suit, put it on and take Poppy down to the river and you run like heck and she gets to hunt you down. Maybe when John gets to feeling up to it you can share the suit, he be the head and you the rear................Poppy would like that

We grow corn that they just love to eat! and all of our falling apples. Planted a rose garden in the back field for them to nibble on.

It's cold! FrEEzIng CoLD!! Sidewalk is froze now with thin layer of ice, surface pond water temperature is 38 degrees, not heated. snow that fell in as a clump from the trees not melting.

Shoveled the sidewalk TWICE today, Took the pond nets down at 5 am, before I went to work, cause the snow and ice was "weighing" the net down to the ground.

Played with the Pumpin today....

Got to drive to Calgary today cause hubby has doctor appointment, road looks like crap, lots of ice and snow in town, will have to get an extra big "Tim Horton" coffee for the road! WISH ME LUCK! No ice on pond yet... currently 20 degrees outside.

Have a safe trip Colleen and hope John gets a good report from the doc!
All your neat Halloween stuff is going to be covered w/ snow
Makes it hard on the poor little trick or treaters too having to tromp through all that snow :helm2:
Maybe you'll get a warm spell before the big night

Thanks guys, had a rough time getting to Calgary! The worst part of the road was at 7am, from Medicine Hat to Brooks, hard packed snow with ice everywhere, all the way to Brooks, took an extra hour to get to Calgary, drove half the way in four wheel, lots of vehicles in ditch, including a big tractor trailer truck. The road from Brooks to Calgary was a bit better, only two vehicles in ditch, both upsidedown, smashed into deep snow. There was one truck we saw, laying upsidedown, stuff fell out of the back of truck and scattered everywhere, looked like it must have" flown" into the snow filled ditch, cause there was no tracks in! Would have taken pictures but I was too busy gripping the wheel for "dear life" and considered turning back, multiple times, but decided against going back "thru that again!"

So we got to see the doctor at the Tom Baker clinic, he looked into John's mouth for two minutes, asked a couple questions, then told us what to expect with Radiation treatment, and sent us home shortly after!! I drove four hours (risking life and limb!) to get there, just for that!! Then they wan't us to come back next week! They could have told us what to expect over the phone!! The GOOD news is John is now CanCer FrEE!! They did not find any in the lymph nodes, thank God!

Puppies & pond tonight..... and inside the greenhouse I made all by myself!

That sucks Colleen about driving all that way for not much info. I guess they had to look inside his mouth tho to see for sure if all was ok. Glad to hear John is cancer free
Like your purple haze photo's..........think that's what Jimmy Hendrix must have been talking about from inside his brain while singing that song of his

Thanks JW, the purple haze in this case is all natural . The pictures were taken right at twilight, and the last bit of twilight was reflected by the new fallen snow, and cast that "purple haze". You can tell it's almost dark cause the candles inside my greenhouse glow orange in the night. :)

Hey Colleen, Purple haze is also a beer brewed with real raspberries, a co-ed a cappella group from Northwestern University, and a variety of medical marijuana. I have experienced one of them but I'm not telling which!
