To clarify what you mean here,.. are you saying that as I lift the liner to backfill, don't have it pulled tight against the framing stone?
-you want to bring the liner up to the boulders the less gaps there are the less build up of waste that's possible. But you can always backfill with river rock too. So after you place the fabric liner fabric place your stone then back fill up to the rock within the falls with gravel / river rock. . While you want as few gaps as po ssible you never want to stretch the rubber even though it stretches very well you want to avoid that. And leave a wrinkle for settling.

Ah, got it, I think 🤔 But Just to be absolutely clear, "bring the liner up to the boulder" from inside the stream area? On the outside area of the stream I'll be creating that berm fold with liner, then pack up against that.

A 36” will be quite large. Maybe cut it in half. Should still be big enough for 2 pumps.

Might be a more affordable DIY lid that performs well. Will think about that.

Maybe cut 1-2 slots in the top to accept a treated 2x4. Kind of like a built in joist hanger. Then you have a choice of outdoor materials you could use as a lid/floor and then cover with rock to disguise.
Still no luck finding an appropriate culvert pipe. Was searching around for alternatives, and saw someone using a rain barrel. Something like this.

Seems like it would work? Cut out the area at bottom for blox to wedge in, cut hole up top for plumbing, and, it has a lid! Lol,.. What do you think?

Dang. I have a piece of culvert pipe that we've been trying to get rid of for years. It's currently serving as a compost bin.

Wouldn't this be the same as a garbage can - built for strength from the inside out, not outside in?
These are slightly more ruggage but yes same riniple and start cutting it and all bets are off

Dang it! Just when I thought I was on to something. The video I saw was some guy in Australia I think. He had a lot of water features going on, showing his various DIY's. His basin was using culvert pipes as the matrix system, they were then going into the bottom of what he called "olive barrels". Looks the same as rain barrels to me, maybe not though. Seemed to be working for him, and they allegedly had been working for years with no issues. Check them out at 3:35 sec into the video.

Ok all, here's my blox footprint. The blue lines on the 2nd pic, in the lower area at the bottom are where I'll dig out for "whatever" vaults I wind up with. Bear in mind that you can't really see the slope on the uphill side. I've calculated it to be about an extra 1' or so drop to basin. I'll have to dbl stack the blox, as I went with 12 to make sure I had more than enough to drive this beast! Lol

I'm still trying to figure out how to effectively make that last exit from that final spill, then on to the basin. That spill, or pooling area is 4' wide.

I've already got a 15x20 underlayment and liner sandwich. With these blox it'll have to be a little less than 3' deep for the blox, and again, it'll be a foot higher on the slope side.

Any thoughts or any other blox configuration, given my liner size?

I measured now from the vault areas, which is lower than the blox, it's now about 20" difference I'll have to contend with on the uphill wall. I was wanting to create a final pooling area before the drop into the basin, but with footprint and slope, all I can now picture is to dig put after the final spill, down to where the uphill side of basin is, and then I'll still have more than enough of a drop, at 20". I may have to wait until the basin is dug and then decide, but Id really like to have it figured out, mostly, before then.

After much more "overthinking", it may behoove me to use a 3 blox across configuration, instead of 2. If I can make that work, I wouldn't need (I don't think), a vault extension x 2,..because i wouldn't need to dig as deep,..way less money. This is of course if I can't come up with an appropriate culvert, or any other DIY vaults. I just have keep working the math to make sure the liner will accommodate all dimensions.

Also now have to make sure the 15x20 basin liner will accommodate. Sigh, live and learn.
