In my garden last Spring and they come every year for a few weeks until they set up their nests..called Hoopoe

WOW, that brings back memories! Dad would take me for walks to find and listen to these birds outside our village back in the old country. It's been 65 years since I've heard or seen one! Thanks, Ponders, for the memories!

I find a leaf like this usually after winter, you can see all the interior after the leaf semi decays.

How cute! did he/she have a home to go back to? Or did you adopt?

Ah such a sweet baby @HARO
Hope he has a mama to go home to.
Unfortunately, I know very little about baby squirrels. Also, it's illegal to keep a wild animal here, so that was out of the question. He didn't seem interested in peanuts, and wouldn't touch spinach. He just wanted to play, and followed me around for quite some time. I put him in a live trap when I went inside (for his own protection) and let him out when my wife came home. He played with her for a while, then disappeared as suddenly as he had shown up. I really hope mamma whisked him back to the nest!

Mama is prolly nearby or papa watching him. If not you may see him again. Does not look old enough to care for himself tho. Poor baby.
