I had all my plants outside and had to bring everything back in for a week or so, one night it got so cold I was worried about the milkweed seedlings. Their back inside now too. Around 20 came up. Maybe the end of the month I can get them in the ground.

Overnight cold wont hurt them once they're in the ground. I've been planting native seedlings for weeks. As long as they're acclimated to the sun, they'll be fine... unless you've got some curious rabbits.

Your rite, I have a Rabbit hanging around, plus the Wood Chucks live out by where I want to plant.
it was Sunday night I think. I looked out Around midnight, and the roof and lawns was totally white, I couldn’t belive It. All the birds have been making nests, I wonder what they think of the cold again.

We hit 32f again, 84f by friday! This cold smack was not bad enough to damage the trees recovering grow from the 27f freeze, luckily!
Birds making all kinds of nests even before the 27f cold smack, about 3-4 weeks ago.

Went on my first walk in a long time yesterday. Probably chose the wrong place, because it was packed with people. Most people were obeying the 6 foot rule.

Tons of birds. Magnolia warblers, yellow warblers, and this one is a first for me. A Prothonotary warbler. It was incredible!

Went to one of my favorite local places this week. They'd been closed because of the current circumstances but made the call to open back up a couple days ago. It's a relatively small place, but has woodlands, wetlands, as well as restored and remnant prairies. Plus, a river runs through it. They expanded their land significantly a few years ago, but the new area is still not open to the public. They want to restore some wetlands before they add trails, and if I remember right, they said it could be a few years before that gets accomplished.

A leftover photo from last week's hike. The hill I'm standing on provides a great view of the river. Not the best view on camera, but really good in person, especially now before the leaves fill in.

With all the turmoil and confinement out there today. I thought I would share these scenic moments while hiking the power lines helping to keep the light on.
