Yes, I too would much rather be outside doing yard work than house work. I am becoming a video junkie, I hope I am not boring you to death, but somebody may find my video's of use.
I was thinking, we should have a virtual "pond tour" and start a thread, say in June or July when everything looks good, and then start a thread where people can post video and pictures in the summer, and then we can have our own Garden Pond Forum Tour, just like the cities do "garden tours", but ours will be Virtural!

I just watched your Hornwort swirling around in another thread. Nice to know it grows so well in the swirl. Mine is swirling as we speak now :)

I am waiting for my grass to turn green, nothing in the front yard is green yet, and ice was still under the leaves when I removed the leaves yesterday from the one big flower bed! It is cold and just under freezing again, front yard pond has ice, it was emptied but snow melt filled it half up over the winter.

Was nice but not super warm today. Moved some reed grass into my pond and moved some other things in new spots. A lily here and a water hawthorne there. Cut some Creeping Primrose off so it can start again. It grows massive long sprawling vines across the pond and makes it look messy so off w/it's head. I toss the leafy part back in to grow again.

Your pond always looks like a nice spring day, and I think your grass is green year round JW, you are lucky to excape the harsh wrath of winter! You have to pay for such nice weather though, I think you have to cut grass year round!! I would take that over the freezing cold though,

Thanks Colleen and grass goes brown in Summer and we don't water it. It comes back green in the Fall really fast. Only mow from March or April to end of October. I don't like it really hot or really cold so this place is perfect except for the RAIN! On this side of the mountains we have no poisonous bugs or snakes and not many bothersome bugs except if you are near non-moving water you will have skeeters of course.

outside in the greenhouse now, got the candles all lit and adjusting the hanging baskets so they are higher up so I quit bumping my head when I get up to stand. I have so many things now growing that I am running out of room in my little homemade greenhouse, so I have to get "creative" and invent space by adjusting how high the baskets hang and squeezing in more baskets.
The city is noisy tonight, the sounds of traffic on the busy nearby avenue and screeching of emergency sirens in the night. It is cold and damp tonight, currently at 33 degrees (plus one Celsius). Tomorrows high will be 56 degrees (plus 13 C) so that will be very nice spring day in Canada!View attachment 68194 View attachment 68195 View attachment 68196 View attachment 68197 View attachment 68199

Hello Everybody!! I am back, relaxing by the pond today! Here we go again, I got my "woman cave" up and running by the pond and am happy to chat about fall and winter issues, although I am not happy about winter coming...

But we have to try and enjoy each season and see the beauty in winter also. All good things must come to an "End" and each new season will bring us closer to a new beginning this spring! :)
