I somehow broke the last of my wine glasses last night, I only had barely one glass of wine and then I was so tired the glass just slipped from my hand! My hands are rough from gardening and stiff and sore today from work last night. I had to move all the boxes in the huge walk in freezer and count everything at work. The boxes can be very heavy with frozen bread dough, and so little tiny glass slipped threw my fingers and fell and broke. I call it "dropsy" when I fumble with small objects, old age does not help either! Need to get a plastic sippy cup!

outside in the greenhouse now, got the candles all lit and adjusting the hanging baskets so they are higher up so I quit bumping my head when I get up to stand. I have so many things now growing that I am running out of room in my little homemade greenhouse, so I have to get "creative" and invent space by adjusting how high the baskets hang and squeezing in more baskets.
The city is noisy tonight, the sounds of traffic on the busy nearby avenue and screeching of emergency sirens in the night. It is cold and damp tonight, currently at 33 degrees (plus one Celsius). Tomorrows high will be 56 degrees (plus 13 C) so that will be very nice spring day in Canada!

How many seeds does it say should be in there. Sometimes it's by weight. Maybe take them back and feel in the package to see if more in the others. Machine that packs them may have goofed.

Usually I get at least enough to plant 24 or more plants, and I forgot to save receipt, so I will start feeling the package next time. All I can say is they better all grow big, those five seeds, or else I will be really mad! :rage:

On the bright side, I do have too many plants right now in greenhouse as it is, so I should be happy. I really don't have anymore room and am starting to eye up this temporary pop up greenhouse for 70 dollars.

I think too I will continue to post pictures of my pond coming to life on winter thread for viewers. Last year I felt bad abandoning the thread and somebody was wondering what happened to me. I will post different stuff on this thread so videos and pictures are different. :)

Yep those suckers better grow dinner plate size for you!

Green houses can be like ponds as you always need more room, bigger, bigger, bigger

Yep would be nice of you to post in the winter as most all of us are deprived of our ponding except for you who keeps going on even when the temps are way below freezing and all life is over as we know it :jawdrop:

I want people to see that running ice cold water all winter does not hurt the fish, and that koi are not tropical as some are lead to believe. THERE is no such thing as koi getting burnt gills from ice cold water, simply not true what so ever! It bugs me that people are afraid to start to start up the pumps in the spring for fear of freezing the fish, while mine run all winter, for the last 23 years and never have I ever seen that in winter. But I have seen burnt gills in the summer many many years ago, when my bottom pond was very small, the waste from the top ponds used to all dump in a much smaller bottom pond, and the water conditions were bad in that pond, and all the small baby fish that got threw and lived down in that way too small bottom pond years ago had burnt gills from POOR WATER Quality, not ICE COLD Water, cause it was SUMMER! This is why it is important for people to get their pumps back running very early in spring, and not worry about how cold the water is! My water is still below 40 Fahrenheit, and was much colder in dead of winter, and my fish are just fine!

Yesterday I groomed the big floating yellow flag. Last years long foliage was left in place all winter and piled on top of the yellow flag for added winter protection for plant and fish that winter under the floating yellow flag water iris, I never cut down the yellow flag in fall as it takes a long time to slowly die off and the energy needs to drain back into the roots as this will give you a better plant.
