Not much to report, ponds are all flowing and fish all fine, warmer weather last couple days and things are melting and getting mucky out back.

Greenhouse is coming along so nice, I gave it the "woman's" touch, and just look how nice everything looks today!
New fish tank of sub species guppies, very old colony I have had for about 28 years now, very tiny guppies as they are wild species....

How would ya get the tank to stay put @callingcolleen1 ?[/QUO

Colleen, how about something like this? It is a plant stand, metal, from Lowes with a glass globe that was $20. I would just paint the stand with a paint that is water safe. for fish. What do you think?\

Hello Everybody!!! Sun is getting stronger every day and its been a cold February. Outside ponds all still running and doing fine, not too sure about the guppy pond, one of the heater quit working and water temperature got too cold... I did get most of them out of that pond and it was an experiment.. I will do an update on that guppy pond soon.
Main ponds have had no trouble, and I am still running the external pressure filter all winter, even though it is risky, but water is heated with 1500 watt cattle tough heater and all other ponds covered with cattle panel cold frames, with next to no ice under them, Cattle panel cold frames work very well with snow cover, sort of like an igloo

I can't believe you've been able to run your external pressurized filter through the winter, without it freezing / cracking! Your green house brings you so much pleasure and allows you to get fresh air and sunshine :)

I think if the goes thew filter fast enough then it should not freeze, plus the 1500 watt makes water warmer as well. It was risky but now I know I can run it all winter. Some canister filters are too big and water can lose pressure if its flowing too slow... Then it can freeze and crack.
