My pond runs all winter, zone 2/3

I have a non stop supply of bubble wrap from work. I get a few extra pieces every day. It comes in boxes with cookies that we pack up. My friend wants me to save her some for her big window that is always cold.

AHH the best thing is the air filled pillow ones now that they put in boxes to protect things .Now that is a POP

Thanks everybody! I meant to load this video on Christmas day but the network was so slow I had to wait.
it went down to minus 33 that night and it was very cold. The greenhouse looked so extra pretty with all the nice lights and the top pond appeared to be quite frozen but you will see on later video that only the uncovered top pond has ice and no ice under the cold frames.

Here you will see no ice under the cattle panel cold frames.
Running the pumps and one 1500 watt cattle trough heater to keep water from freezing completely.

When I hear you crunching around outside like that it gives me the shivers and you w/no gloves on! Even the dogs aren's out there now! Only you! Hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Christmas. I got my white Christmas and still have a little left but higher temps and rain is starting to wash it away now.

I peeked under my cover yesterday and still no ice. We're getting some 0 degree weather next week, so I'll probably put in my de-icer or pond breather, in addition to the aerator.

Colleen, I haven't heard that crunching sound since the winter of 1968 before my family left Edmonton to move back to the US (Idaho). I walked to school on that crunchy ice/snow in below zero temps for 3 winters. Cold but fun as I remember...
I just love your greenhouse, especially all the plants, fairies and lights!

Got a new couch and loveseat to better hybernate the winter away... Extreme Wind chill warning today! Biggest deepest couch in the store! 8 feet long and lots of fancy pillows!

Another cold day and tons of snow fell as well. At least the snow helps insulate the ponds and keeps them warmer. Going to get pictures tomorrow. Too dark now. Off to see my mother tonight and have a nice visit.
