So does anyone know what are these pine cone fluffy plants are coming out through my lilies? I don’t think it’s anything I planted. They are attaches to long vines. I have parrot feathers but these are different!

Do you like the way it looks or should I rip it out? I have plenty of them already in my bog.
Personally, I think it looks attractive with them poking up between the lily pads - nice mix of textures in the foliage. But! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or pond owner) so you'll have to decide if you like the way it looks or if you'd rather they not compete, esthetically, with the lily pads. I'd say if they start overtaking the flowers, then I'd step in & tame them a bit, but otherwise... I'd let them do their 'naturalizing' thing.

Addy I guess I’m inundated with them! I could never really get them to grow and this year they went crazy. They are almost a foot tall in my bog!
My parrots feather always goes crazy by mid summer I am purging a lot of it.

So I finally got rid of most the parrot feather. It was taking over my pond! All the fish are doing well and growing! No real issues with pond care or maintenance, or fish health this year. Everything has gone well. One of those lucky years! I. Still feeding them a high protein food because it’s been so warm but when it runs out by next week I’m switching to a cold weather formula. oh …..and the impatiens in my pond are doing great. I‘ll need to take a picture!

Good to hear you have controlled the beastly Parrots Feather @CometKeith . I love the way mine grows but I have it contained somewhat in a container of kitty litter.

I do have some on the opposite side of the pond that is in a container also but it seems to grow more sprawling than the other kind. Must be two different species.
