These stories of buying more fish when we tell ourselves we don't have the room make me laugh. I almost did the same thing a couple of years back. I finally made myself stop looking at the sites. That was the only way. I have no self-control.

was worried it might lose some beni (my first one from them had done so)
That's what happened to my Sanke, aside from two spots on one side, she lost all her beni and is on her way to become a Shiro Becco
and that's why I prefer metallic koi...would love a Showa, but no I'm not getting one.

Build a bigger pond!
Done that, it's not helping!

I did too!
.. but then I found myself at a greenhouse looking for PLANTS, and that's where Lucifer had placed the koi in need of rehoming

lol I could have a lot of koi................my goldfish breeding freely, barely fill a tiny part of the pond. I might go to the fishery and get some more shubies, if they have survived this covid stuff. Might not, might not.

lol the main issue is zero way to keep the pond fish and the hatchery fish apart. They do have beautiful fish and a ton of different koi! Most of my shubbies are from them. And they are not open until May!
If I get fish it will be only shubbies, I like my lilies too much refuse to have lily munching fish in the pond.:LOL::LOL:

nah you forgot I am a casual, lazy ponder. They do great in oil pans with no protection! Minimal to no care pond and fish. Koi are very pretty, but so are shubbies and a lot less worry about them. Non fussy koi lol
