That's probably the same video dad just had me watch. Yeah, I'm glad I'm in an " esential" job so that my immune system stays strong from continued exposure to random virus and bacteria, rather than the ones who are perfectly healthy, low risk category but still hid at home for months while sanitizing everything 10x a day. For those who have quarantined, your imune system will be depleted. With nothing to fight, it stops trying to keep ahead of the game. So before you rejoin society, go walk barefoot in thewoods, swim in a make or ocean, and start socializing on a small scale with pretty healthy people. Get your immune systems going again, otherwise the first new bug you encounter will Send you to the ER.

Yep, there was that doctor that said everyone's immune system has been depleted from being cooped up and not being exposed to normal every day bacteria. Especially since everyone has been going crazy sterilizing everything around them.
That woman in the video wrote a book. I knew I should have written down her name and the title of the book.
Instead of quarantining everyone, we should have just protected the vulnerable. Herd immunity is what we needed. It's all about greed and power, and basically they won this round. They pry on fear, and people are definitely afraid.

"Plague of Corruption: Restoring Faith in the Promise of Science," by Kent Heckenlively and Judy Mikovits

All the major newspapers are now reporting on how Mikovits was "discredited". Well that's nice - are we just too dumb to hear things and draw our own conclusions? Why do we need to be "protected" from ideas? And who discredited her? Maybe it's the people who stand to be exposed if her information is allowed to be disseminated. I'm not saying she's right - I have no idea, nor have I even heard of her before this. But the well organized smear campaign makes you wonder.

Just the fact that we refer to some people as "essential" and some businesses as "non-essential' is insulting. EVERY job is essential to a family. You know who's not essential - my governor. He can stay home and we'd all be better off. In a SHOCKING turn today, the extremely left leaning Chicago Tribune printed an editorial saying the exact same thing. Governor JB needs to check himself.

Lisa,
Thanks for the book name and authors.

You made me laugh when you said your governor was non-essential! Spot on!

All these righteous "leaders" are out of control. Look at that Texas salon woman who was thrown in jail by that pompous judge. He wanted her to apologize. She stood her ground. Meanwhile, they're letting REAL criminals out of jail. He's still collecting HIS salary. He was described as "enjoys fine cigars". Pompous ass.

That woman is a true hero in my mind - she's doing what she believes is right in the face of injustice, and at all costs. Thank goodness that situation righted itself - I hope she sues everyone involved and is able to open a whole STRING of salons. That judge didn't just want her to apologize, he wanted her to admit she was being SELFISH by opening her business so she could feed her family, and equally important to her, so her employees could feed THEIR families. This is what some in "leadership" positions want us to accept - that demanding our hard won freedom makes us selfish. I had a friend making excuses for herself the other day because she DARED to venture out of her house to go to the local Starbucks - "I know it was SELFISH of me, but it's been WEEKS". Selfish. To enjoy your life... oh, and at the same time, guarantee that those baristas can get paid for another day. Also in Texas - a SWAT team gets called in to shut down a bar. WITH AN ARMORED TANK. There were six men and the female bar owner - and they brought a TANK.

I think no matter what side of the political spectrum you fall on, these stories have to shake you out of complacency. I saw Rep Dan Crenshaw from Texas - another true American - say that our leaders better be careful with their mandates and executive orders or they will wake "the sleeping giant" - the spirit of liberty and freedom that is the underpinning of our nation. I'm reminded of the famous quote by Benjamin Franklin:

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

And if you think you won't be sacrificing your liberty, I would suggest you read a bit about electronic contact tracing. Are you SURE you want them to know EVERY PERSON you come in contact with? Are you sure you want them to know your WHOLE health history? Do you want your potential employer to be able to run a "compliance check" on you to see how often you were spotted in public without a mask? Or to deny you a job because you haven't been vaccinated? A California public health official said they will take it one step further - if you test positive, they will REMOVE YOU FROM YOUR HOME to quarantine you away from your family. Here's the quote: “Every person we’re isolating, for instance, needs to have their own bathroom. So, we’ll be moving people like this into other kinds of housing that we have available.” He backed off the next day and said it would be voluntary, but I'm sorry - I don't need a government official at my door every day checking on my "status". Your next phone update will likely include the ability to do contact tracing by the way. They were so ready for this and just needed a good "reason" to deploy it.

HIPPA regulations were born out of the AIDS epidemic, because we understood the danger of allowing personal freedoms - one of which happens to be the right to privacy - to be eroded in the name of "the public good"... how soon we forget.

They want contact tracing to be normalized. Just like the cameras everywhere spying on us. Look at the drones some of the police are using (which are made in China). And forget about the hippocratic oath, they would love to abolish that.

They say "oh we've been doing contract tracing for YEARS for all kinds of communicable diseases". Ok, if that's true, obviously you've done it without tracking on my cellphone, so keep doing it then.

We enjoyed a nice outing to Costco this morning during their new senior hour 9 - 10 am. They were well stocked, everyone was friendly and the store was well organized.

I looked at all their beautiful planters, but we're to get down to 27 degrees tonight

I emailed the CEO of Costco about their mask requirement for customers and actually got a nice, prompt reply. (To be honest, I can't be sure it's him, but it was nice to get a response.) They allow for a medical exception, which is probably legally required, but I expressed concern about the mask "requirement" setting up confrontations between customers if I were to walk in without a mask due to a medical issue. He expressed confidence that other customers would assume it was a medical issue that prevented another shopper from wearing a mask and not harass them; I don't necessarily agree with his confidence, but time will tell.

I know that my wearing a mask is a supposedly a sign that I care about other people. It displays my social conscience. And I know that people live in fear that they may catch the virus from someone who does not even know they have it. (The asymptomatic carrier theory was quietly debunked by the way - when asked about it Dr. Fauci said he had read the updated report but he still believed it was possible. That's what passes for science now I guess - whatever Fauci believes.) I've even read that it removes the stigma from people who actually ARE sick, so they can wear a mask and not stand out in public. Um... I'm sorry. If you really ARE sick, maybe you should be the one who stays home. They tell you that the mask WILL NOT prevent the virus from passing IN your mask to you... then how is it preventing the virus from passing OUT of the mask to other people? These are the questions that keep me going "hmmmm...". I've had more than one person pass by me while out walking who has pulled down their face covering to cough or sneeze - because honestly, who wants to sneeze on the mask and keep it up against your face?

I follow a Facebook page that covers the police and rescue scanners for two local counties. They have started posting a regular request from the local police departments for people to please stop calling the police to report someone standing too close to them or too close to other people. I guess the police have better things to do than help you maintain your social distance.

We wore masks and from what I saw the majority of customers and employees wore masks. Those who didn't wear a mask, I assumed had a good reason and we saw no confrontations . Being it was senior hour, there were no children under the age of two present....I believe they don't have to wear a mask either.

I noticed may of the items previously in low stock, were back on the shelves....including TP :)

My daughter who works for a non profit that serves adults and children with disabilities, was called back to work this week. They are working diligently to reopen their respite programs while meeting all criteria for social distancing. Many of the participants are exempt from wearing masks, as they have sensory issues.
