Oh, no!!!!! My volume is on the fritz again, darn it! Will have to come back to that video, JW, as Flip Wilson was one of my favs.
I have a sunflower seed bird feeder just about 4' from my stream. There were hundreds of sunflowers growing in the flower bed below the feeder, so I moved it to the other side of the tree. I always have seed shells in the stream, and then into the pond, but the skimmer takes care of most of them. Seems sunflowers grow anywhere they get a chance, so watch for them to grow in your bog. Wouldn't that be fun!

It was a beautiful day! We were down at the lake today, and there is so much work that we have to do on our boat. :( Tomorrow I'm going to try and get the pond up and running. Forecast for the next week is high 50's to low 60's. String algae is out of control!!!!

Addy, you are very lucky, but here I think string algae is just what we get under the ice, at least the big KOI can nibble on it cause their poo makes it worse! My string algae will be gone soon as the big sedges are starting to grow. I get the worst algae in the KOI ponds, the weight of all my combined goldfish would not come close to the weight of my one really big KOI, never mind the other KOI too. Thank goodness for the big sedges, they keep the summer free of algae! :)

Which reminds me, get out the POOL!! Going to get really warm on Tuesday, my day off too, supposed to get close to 70!! :)

I don't even get it in the winter with all turned off, no clue why unless it is the kitty litter I use in all the plant pots. I do get some in the stream ponds, they are shallow, warm, timed water flow.

Bottom of pond was 50.7 today :) Fish were swimming around and all of the fish I could see looked good. Didn't get a head count but will try to do that tomorrow. It's time to raise the lily pads from the bottom of th pond and almost time to start hauling my other plants out. :)

Addy I use kitty litter in my water Lillies and it didn't help at all last year to get rid of the string algae. I also through handfuls into the pond and it didn't work either.
