. Going to go out for a relaxing glass or two of wine with a friend tomorrow, and neither of us are going out with the idea of hunting down men. Much more relaxing to just sit and relax and listen to good music.

Fun to sit and watch others "hunt"

A farmer about two hours north of here lost a yearling quarter horse to predators. The local vet investigated, and concluded that the horse had been attacked by a cougar (4-legged variety) since it had large claw marks on the whithers, and death was from a bite to the top of the neck. (Wolves or coyotes kill by ripping an animal's belly open.) He applied for compensation, the beaurocrats who investigated told him it was a coyote kill. He showed them the vet's statement and was told he wouldn't be compensated! The official position of the Ontario government is that cougars no longer exist in the province, so farmers cannot be compensated for their kills! To make matters worse, cougars are classed as an endangered species, so killing one of these (non-existant) animals will land you in MAJOR hot water! Perhaps there should be a law against beaurocrats?

What! That's just terrible Haro, poor horse!! Think of all the suffering the poor horse endured! Poor farmer too, now he's out a horse! Don't get me wrong, I like wild life too.... but in the wild, not stalking the city streets and farmer's farm, they scare me and Poppy said she had enough of wild animals, now when the coyotes howl the poor Poppy clings to me for safety! I'll protect my little Poppy, never going to let those wild beasts get her again!!! :) :) :)

Our new boat is on the right and our old one on the left. When we retire plan on going where the sun shines! Not sure where the boat will end up but still trying to decide. I have salt water reef tanks and hubby says get rid of them. We do have neighbors that can keep an eye on the pond if we leave so that will help.

Our snow is gone. :) :banana:Even tho its short lived I'm going to enjoy it while I can. Bottom of pond tonight was 47.3 and all the fish were out and more active then they have been for the last couple of weeks.

It was 32 here this morning when I first got up. Getting up to 50's today, sun is bright in a clear sky! Not looking forward to snow just yet, maybe after I get back from my cruise in January, then it can come. Always a worry for bad weather if I take a winter vacation. Fish in pond will do fine, even if electricity goes off. But, the aquarium fish are more dependent on having their pumps and filters running.
Nice that your fish are more active, MT! That's quite a change in boat size you got there! Seeing a boat right now, with the devastation of Sandy, makes me NEVER want to own one. LOL Hopefully you will never be in or near waters that cause that kind of destruction for your new boat. :)

Yuck, that's too darn cold for this early in the year. Is it normal for you, or colder than usual? We are having abnormally warm temps the last 2 days and today (60's today, was 75 yesterday!!!) but tomorrow it's going to sock us with 42 for a high. This see-saw weather is awful! I wish it would just stay normal. LOL But, I'm thankful the rains today are not going to get here until 5 (when it gets dark) as I'm taking a friend horseback riding this afternoon!
Hope it warms up some for you, MT!
