I think I have a sad weakness in me for those fluffy carb breads and I may need therapy like you suggest Colleen............maybe chewing some of that Sweet Flag may help us. I hear it helps w/ cigarette smoking :bouncycig:

I will do penance Lou by having nothing but chicken broth and watered down apple juice for 3 days straight

Yes, that was a good read about the Sweet Flag JW. I hear it has lots of medicinal uses. I will read more into it for sure, cause it grows so well in the bottom pond.

Look it is growing so nice already, and the ice just broke last week from the marsh area! I pulled some of the last years growth dead growth away so the sun could shine and warm that area. :)

For farmers in the eastern Indian state of Chhattisgarh it is cheaper than pesticides and gets the job done just as well. The product? Pepsi or Coca-Cola. Agric...ultural scientists give them some backing - they say the high sugar content of the drinks can make them effective in combating pests.

Unsurprisingly, Pepsi and Coca-Cola strongly disagree, saying there is nothing in the drinks that can be used in pest control. READ MORE : http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/3977351.stm

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN YOU ARE ALONE??

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating ...improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!

A cardiologist says If everyone who sees this post shares it to 10 people, you can bet that we'll save at least one life..

Rather than sharing jokes only please contribute by forwarding this info which can save a person's life..

And did you know that corn oil is very bad for you too, never mind the GMO factors alone, cause it is also very bad because of the way it is extracted and the fact that it is rancid right from the get go!

If you look at oils that we have been eating for a long long time, like the fruit olive oil, (Mono Unsaturated) press the olives and out comes the oil, easy!

If you look at nut oils, (Mono Unsaturated) crush the nuts and the oil rises to the top! Easy!

SO, go home and "press and crush" the corn and tell me if you get oil!! NO, not nearly that easy!

It is a chemical process to extract the oil from the corn. Benzene is the cancer causing carcinogen, is it used to extract the oil from the corn. Benzene pulls the oil out of corn like gasoline pulls a stain out of your shirt! :(

Polyunsaturated oils are also highly unstable and rancid and that is why they stink a month after opening the bottle! BAD!
So don't use corn oil ever! It is also very bad cause it is a high concentration a polyunsaturated oil, which is very hard on your gallbladder !

I think whipped cream is healthy if you make real whipped cream, from real dairy, from healthy cows organic cows if possible, and if possible unpasterized too, them you have a "super food"!

If not possible to get organic, and unpasterized, then it is still much better than "an editable oil product"!

When I injured my back a couple years back I drank lots of high fat real wipping cream and healed my own back within a week. Prior to that my back was so sore I could hardly sit down! Most people would have ran and got pills and been medicated for the rest of their life and taken time off work. I worked the whole time cause I think it stops you from "ceasing up" like a rusted old thing that I really am! Ha ha

The high fat dairy is good to heal with as over 50% of every cell in your body is saturated fat, you need that to rebuilt the tissue, and it works real well for me!

Now I know most of you are sold on the low fat diet, but in North America, we eat the most amount of "low fat", "no fat" and " fake fat", and we ARE the SICKest, unhealthest, and most overweight in the world! In France and Italy, they eat the most amount of butter and cream and high fat dairy and they are very healthy and lean! That is a FACT!
Yes, they do eat very small portion too, but with a high fat diet you fill up quicker and stay fuller longer so you don't need a big portion to feel satisfied!

Hello! Anybody get it?

I don't agree with dairy fat being particularly good for you. You are certainly correct that we need, and should have, plenty of fat in our diet, but there are much better forms of fat than what you get from cows milk.
Fish fat being on the not of the list (particularly salmon and sardines), and certain types of vegetable fats are also very good, like coconut oil, flax oil, hemp oil, and olive oil, and it is this last one that places like France and Italy tend to consume large quantities of compared to North Americans, my guess is this is one reason they tend to be healthier, that and the fact that they drink red wine with every meal. ;)

Cows milk,,,,,, no thanks. :nono:

I don't do cows milk cause I am lactose intollerant, but there is no lactose in the high fat cream, butter or cheese. Lactose is only in the milk and low fat dairy. Lactose is also a sugar.

I drink cod liver oil right out of the bottle too and drink only red wine also. But I like my high fat dairy cream and let us not forget that it IS the food of our forefathers!

The real stuff is:) I'll wimp out and go for Reddi Whip ... Not the best, but sure beats the heck out of Cool Whip. Now that stuff is nasty LOL.

Well, I must admit I have a weakness for greek style yogurt, and lots of stuff I eat has cheese in it, but butter and milk I've replaced with coconut oil and almond milk.
I'm not lactose intolerant, but securing organic cows milk is a difficult and expensive proposition, and I've found coconut oil and almond milk to be a better substitute for most things anyway.
You mentioned a back injury,,,, the right kind of fat is good, but you need plenty of protein for healing too, and plenty of antioxidants foods. In certain foods those three things can conflict with each other. For instance, red meat like beef is high in fat (the wrong kind), and protein, but it is definitely not an antioxidant food, in fact it is on the other end of the scale. Dairy products are not considered an antioxidant food either. However, salmon fits all three. high in fat, high in protein, and classified as an antioxidant food because it is rich in omega 3 fatty acids.
Our forefathers were eating fish long before they ever started milking cows and making cheese.
