I would think if poisonous the critter would know not to eat.
I have a plant, beautyberry, pretty purple fruit. The birds wait to eat until it is fermented, later in winter.
One would hope so!

But sometimes animals eat fruit that isn't native to their area and die from it. For example, birds and gazelles in Western countries have died in large numbers from eating the berries of nandina bushes, which originated in China (one reason I cut off the berries after it blooms). Brugmansia is from South America, so I'm not sure our Israeli hyraxes know about it.

Wow! I learned something new today - I've literally never heard of nor seen a rock hyrax! What an interesting animal.

What makes it even more interesting is that it's closest evolutionary relative is the elephant! It has no other close relatives at all. And they're noisy; they have these weird calls that sound like a flock of frightened chickens. And they can climb trees and fences, which means that if they discover something they like in your garden...well it's going to be hard to keep them out. On the other hand, I haven't had them raiding the garden very often, despite having a whole tribe of them living on the hillside below our house. I'm a bit worried that they'll try to dig a whole in the pond or stream edges, so I'll be keeping an eye on what they're up to this winter!

If you see them holding hands in a circle around a large boulder or jabbering about the meaning of life and how we're all doing it wrong, you'll know for sure. Please watch and report back.

Hmm must be something in the water over there.
Gradmas that move 500 pound boulders who play with plastic explosives .
And sweet little ground hogs that would just assume eat your heart over an apple.

The red at the top of the picture is the matrix bog 8x20x6
The orange is the pea stone bog 6x8
The gray is the stream 25 feet
The pink is a upper pond that feeds the two falls to the main pond 12x8

Marvelous! Getting an overhead shot like this really helps see the layout and how all the parts fit together. It really does look like it's been there forever!

I just realized I never did a plumbing diagram for the pond.
The blue is the direction of flow to the pond.

The red line is the 2 - 12" bottom drains that are on the same 3" pvc pipe that is pulled to the 12000 gph external pump that is in the garage.

The green line is a 2" line that runs from the collection pond below the negative edge, that too runs to the external pump in the garage.

The yellow line is 2" return line that has 2 venturi heads that gives circulation to the main pond. they are pushing approximately 2000 gph each.

The gold line is A 3" flex pvc that splits as it feeds both the peastone bog with approximately 3000 gph and the Matrix Aquascape bog with approximately 4000 gph.

The pink line is a small submersible pump that sits in the cistern that circulates the with about 400 gph that pushes water up to the stream.

I doubt the oldest as I can think of a few much much older. but mine is one that never seems to end. Rebuilt the bog just last year. And some landscaping and hardscapes remain

i'd think the Whatcha doing today? is probably close.

And as a very wise man says i love my JOB ok so my pond is like my second job it's definitely an obsession
