I would love to have some leopard frogs, we have a pickerel frog. It hangs out by the pond edge, then wanders up the house.
I have a bunch of green frogs, saw three in the lotus tank, one in each stream pond, a whole bunch in the bog, I removed 4 large bullfrogs, darn things. If I can catch them they are gone. They seem to hang out in the big pond.

I'm excited! In mid-May I got a Green Frog tadpole. I wasn't sure how long it would take to become a frog because they can change anytime between 3 months and a year.

Now, four months later, my Green Frog tadpole is finally changing! Its back legs appeared a couple weeks ago and a front leg just popped out a little while ago. I'm hoping in about a week I can release it in my pond!

I'm a little nervous about my frogs overwintering in my pond since this is the first winter for my new pond. Its almost 3' deep, which should be good, but that area is pretty small and I know others have pulled out dead frogs in spring. I'd hate to find my frogs all dead.

neat! I have lots of green frogs, in the spring a bunch of tree frogs, every now and then a pickerel frog. They will sit there and let you walk up on them until you are just too darn close.

I have a bunch of leopard frogs that hang out in the grass behind the goldfish pond bog. That bog is very overgrown with water clover and penny wart. So, when I walk by and disturb them from hunting bugs or whatever they are doing, they quickly hop in a zig zag back to the bog and easily disappear into the growth. I've seen 3 at the same time, so there are at least 3.
Are the pickerel frogs tiny, Addy? I had Northern Cricket frogs 2 years ago, not seen any since. This year, no tiny frogs early, but now they are coming out of the woodwork everywhere. Not in the ponds, though, but everywhere around it, about 10-15' away. I see something jump, think it's a cricket or something, and turns out to be a teeny tiny frog. I need to get a pic of one on something that will show it's size. They are no more than 1/2" long. Not sure what type they are, but not with lime green marking on their back like the Northern Cricket frogs I had when first built ponds. Figure bullfrogs ate all of them, but these new guys are not in the pond, so maybe they are safer. Just love seeing all the frogs and bugs and butterflies, etc. because of the ponds!

I was pulling grass out of some day lilies next to the pond, and this big leopard frog (I think that's what it is) jumped onto my foot! I moved really slowly so she would not get scared, and she stayed put for me to get the camera. Then jumped into the skimmer and posed for a couple more pics!

Little bit later, spotted one jump into the Lamb's Ear, looked really close, and saw a much smaller Leopard frog, much more colorful, maybe a male as it was about 1/3 the size of the big one above. Are they the same type, or different? I really like how this guy has that very distinct ridge on his back.

Then, I mentioned I had some really tiny frogs. Well, here was one on the pavers. First up close, then to show you dimension, the paver is 9" long. This guy is less than 1" long.

And, while I was pulling cattails and penny wart from the koi pond bog, I spotted this little guy. Again, less than 1" long, but it was a very zoomed in photo. He really blends in well with that rock, doesn't he?!

I thought it was a serious bit of footage too, until the very end that is.

Oh man, he's really pretty, Addy! Do you know what the frogs are that I posted? I'm not sure anymore, but think they are leopard frogs, the big ones that is. Not sure on the tiny ones, but really doesn't matter. They are cute!

See the lighter halo around the spots, that is an indication of a leopard frog. Mine does not have the halo. Also my frogs spots look more like squares

wow, love the frogs pic!!

So I got a good look at my new 'smaller' frog today and I think it's just another green frog now. I now saw ridges along the back and white line on the lip. My frogs dont hang around the pond though, so I dont normally see them :(
