Awesome topic!
I'm still waiting and waiting for frogs to show up to my pond.. just isn't complete without them.

I'm taking care of two green frog tadpoles indoors right now that I plan to release whenever they change. 2.4 inches long. No idea when they'll change or if they'll stick around but its all I've got right now.

Hey, JB, what part of Wisconsin are you from? I have a sister moving to near Milwaukee area, from Phoenix, AZ. I'm originally from Brookfield. Hope your tadpole changes soon, and Figgy that is an adorable little guy! My frogs are almost non-existent this year. Had a bunch of bullfrogs back in maybe March, and now I'm lucky to see even one. Not sure what's going on. Maybe they are all hiding in the bog, which is like a jungle.

We finally have a resident frog! He has been living in/around the pond for about 2 weeks. He is in the pond with my baby koi so I hope he doesn't eat them..

Pretty, looks like a Leopard Frog, Neo!!! He may very likely eat the baby koi, if they are tiny fry, and/or if they cannot get away! But, the frog needs to survive, too. :blueflower:

They have a lot of places to hide and so far they don't seem spooked. I'm definitely leaving him (especially since he has a name now) but I did think about catching a few of the little koi and putting them in my quarantine aquarium since I already promised a few of them to a friend looking to stock her pond once they are big enough.

I've been very happy. As some of you saw I started a topic last week called "A Frog Showed Up".

Well, its come back every night for the last 5 days! We believe it hangs out at a neighbors ditch all day (tall grasses, a boardwalk to hide under, and shaded by a tree) and at sunset it crosses the yard to our pond. It doesn't seem to be too concerned by me. I've almost stepped on it twice, so I keep a close eye where I step at night. Tonight, as I was watering the plants I found it hanging out in my small stream.

Here is a photo of it a couple of nights ago.

Cute frogs, folks!! Two posts up, those are really small frogs, size I have not seen in my pond this year, and miss them! Last post, his eyes look like they have gold flakes in them. Pretty!
Here's a little guy that I'm not sure what he is, maybe a bullfrog juvenile. I've seen the same "stance" not sure if it's the same frog, or several, although I've only been seeing at the most 2 frogs at a time. I think it's cute how "tall" he sits! Maybe because there was a painted turtle that showed up, and he needed to keep an eye on the turtle. Never moved, until the koi came and started bumping the lilies he was on, then he jumped into the plants outside on the pond edge. Third pic is the turtle in the foreground, frog in the background.
