I'm going to fill it 1/2 way with the hose to protect the shelves from caving in as they are still a bit soft. After that I'm hooking up my roof gutters to it and letting good old mother earth do the work. In about 2 weeks or so I will drain it and start the rock work.
I'm super glad to hear it does not have an inside and outside. That would be a nightmare to flip it over.
I originally typed it was imperative the stamp was face up but i was afraid like myself in a bit of a rage id see that storm out and start flipping in over i didn't want to do that to you

laughing I was going to do the same thing, then decided that would be cruel!

Do yourself a favor DO NOT CUT the excess liner, tuck it under. So often it gets cut then you find a low spot, need to fix a edge etc. I never cut my liner, just roll under and keep.

Great job btw! Hubby and I did our liner, don't think I could do it again.

DO NOT CUT
fully agree!!!!!!!! no matter how much work it may seem . you have some large areas left over so much so I would create additional bogs down the road. Talk about making it look natural. I made a moss garden on the side of the pond. and I even made a small pond off to one side that became a large part of the layout. It can do so much for the look and the clarity of the pond I'm am on my third summer. not a hint of green water string algae is trying but it appears to be changing to a higher form of algae that has a form like a plant with branches. Water is crystal clear I have got to get some videos posted. .

have you checked the water table ..After a storm it can lift the liner .I am up on hill in Southside VA and was amazed after 1 really bad storm with lots of rain for days that I had water under my liner .I am lucky I am up on a hill and it drained fast but my neighbor was not as lucky with her pond it took almost 2 months for it to finally go down .She lives down below me .I am always in fear of the water table at the other house as it is near Smith Mountain lake and Bedford lake and has the Fryingpan creek that runs across the property .It devides the property 1 acre and then 11 acres on the other side of the creek

Nope never even thought that was possible. Guess I will see what happens. Our soil is pretty permeable here living on a lava island. It amazes me that even after a day with 8" of rain I can go dig in the soil and its not muddy. Hopefully that will help with this situation.

my friend moved back from Hawaii a couple of years ago .He worked for Ford and when he retired he decided to move back and take over his parents house and grow coffee .He moved back here and built a round house from a kit and sold the house there .He said at least now he can afford to live and so it comfortably .He now grows some fantastic veggies and I taught him how to can .We have clay here and it seems to take forever to drain .I came from NJ where the soil was rich and I could grow everything to state where it is very acidic soil since it was all pine trees before I bought the property .Been years now and still have a hard time growing things because of soil and heat .Plus I do not want to over work my well
